As chromium in urine remains as oxychromic acid ions, chromium was extracted by using ion pair formed with anion exchanger trioctyl methyl ammonium chloride.
After then it is noted whether this TOMAC-MIBK method is effective or not for the chromium analysis by using flame method of Atomic absorption spectrometric analysis.
The result is as following.
1. Effects of various acids on the extraction of Cr. with MIBK including TOMAC are good in order HNO_(3), H_(2)SO_(4), HCl and its proper concentration of HCl is 0.03M to 0.3M.
2. TOMAC concentration is 20times the molar concentration of Cr. complex in excess.
3. The recovery of Cr. in urine using AAS was obtained 98~104% for TOMAC.
This results indicate that the optimized analytical condition obtained could be successfully applied to the quantitative analysis of Cr. in human urine sample using AAS.
