아동학대의 실태와 대책에 관하여 = The Reality and Policy of Child Abuse

The Purpose ist co raise public awareness of child abuse by examining the current of abuse in Korea hidden or unknown co the Public. Also, this Study attempts co enhance a general undemanding on child abuse by categorizing the types of it and finding some important variables of each type. Most of child abuse case were physical abuse. The consulting records show that child abuse 43.7%, from it physical abuse 23.5%, emotional abuse 19.0%, neglect abuse 20.2%, sexual abuse 1.1 %. The most popular for emotional/physical maltreatment was ``because of child`` mistake, i.e, many from of child abuse occured in the process of punishment. Factors which affect on child abuse victimization are as follow. Factor which affect on child abuse are parental marriage status, parental deviance, inconsistency of punishment, an hostile atmoshere in family. This result suggest support and protection for at-risk families, consistent punishment, homely atomsphere are needed. Various prevention efforts in Korea have laws for protection of absued child and child education programs, self-helf programs, prevention programs with telephone. Bases on finding in this study, it suggest several ways for eliminating child abuse. In regard to social values, respecting each other among members of our society and disapprovling violence are needed. In regard child abuse prevention programs, parent-oriented education programs are needed. Also, public-oriented education are needed. For example, campaign to prevent child abuse are needed. Activating family support programs are needed.
