The purpose of this study is to explore the work-family balance experience of female middle managers in the IT field. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with six female middle managers in the IT field, and data collected based on the analysis and phenomenological analysis method (IPA) were analyzed. As a result, 4 topics and 14 sub-themes were derived. The four topics were ‘work-family high-skilled managers in transitional IT environments’, ‘pressure due to irreplaceable IT work characteristics’, ‘work-family balance managers beyond IT work management’, and ‘new identity as female middle managers in IT field’. The results of this study provided basic data to understand the work-family balance experience and meaning of female middle managers in the IT field, and through this, discussions and suggestions were made to help develop practical psychological help and leadership.
