국내 상담심리 분야의 개념도 연구방법에 대한 메타분석적 개관 = Meta-analytic Overview of Concept Mapping Methodology in Korean Counseling Psychology Research

The purpose of this study is to provide empirical evidence for more valid and reliable application of concept mapping method through meta-analytically identifying the trends of the research that applied the concept mapping method as well as the quantitative features of the research methods in the field of counseling psychology research. For this purpose, 67 articles that displayed quantitative indicators of research among the articles published in KCI-registered journals over the past 15 years (2004-2019) using the concept mapping in the counseling psychology research area in Korea were selected. Research trends were analyzed by research journal, year, research topic, research participants. Quantitative features presented in the stages of concept mapping method were analyzed by collecting quantitative data extracted from 106 concept maps derived from 67 studies. The results of the study were as follows: First, the general trend of concept mapping methods showed that researches were conducted in a similar way of the general research topics in the field of counseling psychology on subjects which are related to various counseling settings such as university counseling centers, schools, and workplace. Second, in most cases, the concept mapping methodology in the field of counseling psychology in Korea was performed based on the procedures and indicators suggested by Kane and Trochim(2007). However, in order to apply the better study method of concept mapping methodologically, it is necessary to consider more research factors that can increase the internal validity and reliability of the concept mapping. Third, it was identified that the stress value for evaluating the internal validity of the concept mapping was related to the number of final statements, the number of statements in the maximum cluster, and the average number of files classified by participants. Based on the results of the study, implications of more valid and reliable concept mapping method were discussed and suggested for further research.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 상담심리 연구 분야에서 개념도(concept mapping) 연구방법을 적용한 연구의 동향과 연구방법의 양적 특징을 메타분석적으로 확인함으로써 보다 타당하고 신뢰로운 개념도 연구방법의 적용을 위한 경험적 증거를 제공하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해서 본 연구는 지난 15년 동안(2004~2019년) 국내 상담심리 연구 분야에서 개념도 연구방법을 활용하여 KCI 등재 이상의 학술지에 게재된 논문 중 연구의 양적 지표를 확인할 수 있는 67편을 연구 대상으로 선정하였다. 먼저 학술지, 년도, 연구 주제, 연구 참여자에 따라 연구 동향을 분석하고 67편의 연구에서 산출된 106개의 개념도에서 나타난 양적 자료를 수집하여 개념도 연구방법의 단계에서 나타나는 양적 특징을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 개념도 연구방법의 전반적인 동향을 살펴보면, 대학 상담센터, 학교, 기업체 등 다양한 상담 환경과 관련된 연구 참여자를 대상으로 상담심리 분야의 연구 주제 분류와 유사하게 연구들이 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 국내 상담심리 분야에서 이루어진 개념도 연구방법은 대체로 Kane과 Trochim(2007)이 제시한 절차와 준거대로 수행되고 있었으나, 방법론적으로 좀 더 우수한 개념도 연구방법을 적용하기 위해서 개념도의 내적인 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인할 수 있는 연구 요소들을 좀 더 고려할 필요가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 개념도 연구방법의 내적 타당도를 평가할 수 있는 스트레스 값은 최종 진술문 수와 최대군집의 진술문 수, 그리고 참여자가 분류한 평균 파일의 수와 관련이 있음이 확인되었다. 연구 결과에 기초하여, 방법론적으로 보다 타당하고 신뢰로운 개념도 연구방법에 대한 논의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.
