A motif of embroidery payyerns on custume was a nature including animals ad plant ; a nature was recognized as an absolute ability to control a world. Depending upon this surperstitious religion, the embroidery patterns were symbolized.
First, the embroidery patterns were derived from shape of animals such as a dragon for expressing an absolute power or a turtle for expecting a long life.
Second, the embroidery patterns were derived from Chinese characters meaning wealth, happiness, luck or health.
Beside, the embroidery patterns as well as color were differentiated based on social class : high class embroidered variously while low class embroidered with limitation.
From this study, it is assumed that the embroidery pattern onamented on costume expressed mark and courtesy. It reflected sociality and culture in this time.
