Korea's Urban Maglev Program (UMP) started in December 2006. The total program budget is expected to be 450 million US Dollars, including contributions from the private sector, Incheon International Airport (IIAC) and City of Incheon. The objectives of the program are to develop the competitive urban transit maglev vehicle and to construct a 6.1㎞ urban maglev demonstration line at Incheon International Airport by 2012. After the intensive tests for one year, revenue service will begin from 2013. A prototype urban maglev train composed of two permanently coupled vehicles were built and have been under test since March 2010. The current status of Urban Maglev Program, including some of preliminary test results of the prototype urban maglev train on 1.3㎞ test track will be presented in this paper
