‘음운론적 조건에 의한 이형태’ 새로 보기 = A New Approach on the ‘Phonologically Conditioned Allomorphy’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 단순히 몇 가지 예시의 나열에 그쳤고, 기존에 이견 없이 받아들여졌던 ‘음운론적 조건에 의한 이형태’에 대해 재검토하였다. 이형태의 원형적인 유형인, ‘음운론적 조건에 의한 이형태’ 예시를 확충하고, 특히 ‘음운론적 조건에 의한 보충법적 교체(PCSA)’을 비롯한 Paster(2006, 2016)의 이형태 분류 개념을 수용하였다. 이를 토대로 조건과 유형을 구분하며 어근과 접사 부문의 적용 양상 등을 살펴 이형태 분류 체계화에 대해 논의하였다.
언어유형론적 관점의 국내외 이형태 논의를 토대로 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 새로운 관점을 제시하였다. (i) 음운론적 이형태 교체도 특정한 형태소의 선택과 관련된 형태론적 관점(어휘론적 조건)이 작용하는 것과 (ii) 단일한 이형태 ‘유형’도 하나 이상의 이형태 ‘조건’을 동시에 가지는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to re-examine the phonologically conditioned allomorphy and establish the systematic classification of allomorphy based on the condition and type(form). Specifically the phonologically conditioned suppletive allomorphy is adopted and multiple underlying form is proposed in the allomorphy type on the basis of paster(2006, 2016). The application scope of alternation is respectively discussed in root and suffix and the distinction between the condition and type(form) must be emphasized in the classification of allomorphy.
Most of all, the morphological viewpoint which show the preference on the specific morpheme is appeared even in the phonological allomorphy selection. Furthermore the single type allomorphy is conditioned simultaneously by more than one of the factors, in the case of ‘eulo/lo’ alternation, phonologically conditioned(by consonant or vowel) and lexically conditioned(by ‘ㄹ’ ending root).
