This is a description of the establishment of basic Christian doctrines necessary for new believers who begin their church life after registering at a church. Rather than introducing and theoretically attempting various types of teaching materials and various educational methods to help new believers realize the truth, this paper aims to establish the direction of church education for new believers through Calvin's spirit of religious reform and his book, Institutes of the Christian Religion. The most appropriate example is John Calvin, a theological educator whose Bible-centered ideology and the central idea of ​​his representative educational work, Institutes of the Christian Religion, are the premise that the Bible is the truth, and it serves as basic data for establishing the standard of truth in the church by basing Christian values ​​on the Bible.
This paper will focus on what to teach rather than how to teach, and in particular, the core of this paper is not to be satisfied with just 'knowledge' but to establish the content that makes faith come alive through 'knowledge'. This is a study on church education for new believers, the knowledge of God the Creator and the knowledge of God the Redeemer, and it can be said to be the essence of Christianity.
The characteristic of Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion that this paper considers important is that it clearly and clearly establishes the view of faith centered on the Bible, not just intellectual or abstract concepts, and is very practical and requires practice as an education that saves life. Therefore, through the 'Apostles' Creed', it studied what to hear and what to think in Christ, and also described in the hearts of believers who God is, what God’s will is, and the importance of people obeying His will through the study of the Ten Commandments.
In that respect, Institutes of the Christian Religion is a doctrine that comprehensively summarizes the Bible, which is the educational content that should be taught to the church and believers, and it summarizes the truth in a general way and declares an educational view centered on the Bible, so it will be a guide to faith for the church and new believers in the post-Christian era.

기존의 신자들에게 또는 교회 등록 후 신앙생활을 시작하는 새 신자에게 필요한 기독교의 기본 교리 정립을 위한 서술이다. 교회 신자들 특별히 새 신자에게 진리를 깨닫도록 도와주기 위한 다양한 교재의 종류와 교육방법은 이미 많고 다양하다. 그럼에도 본 논자는 칼빈의 종교개혁 정신과 그의 저서, 『기독교 강요』를 통하여 새 신자를 위한 교회교육 방향 정립을 나누고자 하였다. 가장 합당한 표본으로 삼을 수 있는 신학 교육자, 존 칼빈(John Calvin)의 오직 성경 중심 사상과 그의 대표적 교육 저서가 되는 『기독교 강요』의 중심 사상은 성경이 진리라는 전제이며, 기독교 가치 근간을 성경에 두고 진리 기준을 교회에 정립하는 기본자료임에 확신을 가지고 사용하였다.
본 논문에서는 어떻게 가르칠 것인가 보다 무엇을 가르칠 것인가에 치중하였으며 특히 그 내용은 아는 ‘지식’으로만 만족해하는 것이 아니라 아는 ‘지식’을 통해 믿음이 살아나는 내용 정립이 논문의 핵심이 된다. 본 논문에서는 새 신자 신앙교육에 중심을 두고 창조주 하나님을 아는 지식과 구속 주 하나님을 아는 지식에 관한 연구이며 기독교의 본질이라고 할 수 있다.
본 논문이 중요하게 여기는 칼빈의 『기독교 강요』의 특징은 기독교 기본진리를 단지 지식적이거나 추상 관념적이지 않고 성경을 중심으로 신앙관을 명확하고 일목요연(一目瞭然)하게 세워주며 생명을 살리는 교육으로 매우 실제적이며 실천을 요구하였기에 ‘사도신경’을 통하여 그리스도 안에서 무엇을 들어야 하며 무엇을 생각해야 하는지 연구하게 하였으며 또한, 십계명의 연구를 통하여 신자들의 마음속에 하나님이 누구시며 그분의 뜻은 무엇이며 사람들이 그분의 뜻에 순종함의 중요함을 서술하였다.
그런 측면에서 『기독교 강요』는 성도들에게 가르쳐야 할 성경을 총체적으로 집약한 교리이며 진리를 개괄적으로 요약하여 성경 중심의 교육관을 천명하는 것이기에 탈 기독교 시대 교회와 새 신앙인들에게 신앙의 안내자가 될 것이다.
