직관적인 확률적 사고의 발달 :위험감수 선택 상황을 중심으로 = The Development of Intuitive Probabilistic Thinking : Gain and Loss Frame

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated children’s probabilistic thinking in a risky situation with task involving sequential events sampling. The study was conducted on 121 college students and 95 children aged 3, 4, and 5 years old. The results showed that the frequency of selection increased to a more favorable option both children and adults. The response time was not statistically significant but showed decrease tendency. In addition, after acquiring a lot of rewards, children’s reaction time of next trial dramatically increased than adults’ reaction time. Also found that the frequency of selecting the box in the other direction was much higher in the next trial after losing the reward compared to the adult. The tendency of children and adults seems similar, but found that there is a slight difference in detailed patterns. This suggests that children can show probabilistic thinking as adults, but they may not be able to acquire cognitive abilities and concepts for more accurate reasoning.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 순차적 사건 표집 과제를 사용하여 위험감수 선택 상황에서 아동의 직관적인 확률적 사고과정을 탐색하였다. 연구는 성인 대학생 121명과 어린이집 및 유치원의 만 3세, 만 4세, 만 5세 아동 95명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 분석 결과 아동과 성인 모두 시행이 증가할수록 많은 보상을 획득할 수 있는 방향으로 선택의 빈도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 시행에 따른 반응시간은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으나 감소하는 경향성을 나타냈다. 또한 보상을 많이 획득한 후 다음 시행에서 반응시간이 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 성인보다 아동에게서 그 증가폭이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 성인에 비해 아동의 경우 보상을 잃은 후 다음시행에서 다른 방향의 상자를 선택하는 빈도가 월등히 높은 것으로 나타났다. 과제 수행 과정에서 나타나는 아동과 성인의 경향성은 유사하나 세부적인 패턴에서 다소 차이가 나타남을 발견하였다. 이는 아동도 성인만큼 확률적 사고를 나타낼 수 있다고 볼 수 있으나, 보다 정확한 추론을 위한 인지능력 및 개념을 습득하지 못한 것으로 볼 수 있다.
