We propose a novel model for the education of the vehicle steering system that simulates driving conditions according to how the vehicle is steered when front wheel-lock or rear wheel-lock take place. In the major subjects such as Automobile Engineering and Engineering Dynamics, students learn the stability of steering when a wheel-lock occurs as a result of hard braking. However, it is difficult for the students to learn those phenomenon because those subjects introduce students complex formula and simplified 2D graphs which may be difficult for the students to apply to the case in real vehicle motion. In order to overcome this difficulties, we developed a new macro subroutine based on Carsim by using MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). This paper outlines the simulated model of the vehicle when the front wheel-lock or rear wheel-lock occur. The results show the behavior in the case of such as a lateral acceleration, a longitudinal acceleration, brake force and 4 wheels speed. In addition to simulation, we designed and fabricated a real proto type model car that can be used to observe various situations without conducting experiments using a real vehicle. For educational purpose, this proto type model car allowed us to estimate the behavior of the real vehicle. The results obtained from this study are believed to be utilized as useful data for the development of automobile-related educational materials in the future.
