Reading is the process of constructing meaning from written text. Without an understanding of what is read, there is no reading. Also, there is no doubt about the pervasiveness of using questions in classrooms to teach reading comprehension. Asking questions and answering them are a primary means of facilitating the development of reading comprehension. Even the kindergarten teachers during reading time recognize questioning as one of the most influential teaching strategies to stimulate the development of children`s reading comprehension. This study examined reading comprehension and questioning strategies through reviewing theoretical articles and research studies. Based on the discussions of the study, some suggestions were drawn for the kindergarten teachers.
