대학스포츠가 세계 공동체에 미치는 영향 = The Impact of University Sport on Global Community

국문 초록 (Abstract)

젊은이들에게 - 특히 대학생 - 스포츠 교육이 미치는 역할, 개성을 개발해야 하는 일의 중요성, 그리고 사회와 인간관계에 미치는 영향을 논한다. 그 영향력의 범위는 넓고, 나라, 인종, 성별 관계와 관련된다. 긍정적인 효과가 일반적이지만, 부정적인 함축의미도 논한다. 대학 스포츠의 실천과 결과, 그리고 사회가 바라보는 방식은 다르다. 미국, 영국, 독일의 사례는 다음의 관점에서 논한다. 1) 스포츠가 개인의 발전과 사회의 발전에 미치는 영향, 2) 교육 제도와 그 제도를 운영하는 이들을 위한 원동력으로서 스포츠 철학, 3) 대학 스포츠 참여가 직업에 미치는 영향, 4) 대학 교육 중 신체 활동의 건강 효과, 학생들의 생각과 기대치를 분석하고 고려해야 하며 직원들의 높은 전문성 기준이 보장되어야 한다는 것이 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로, 대학의 리더쉽은 수요를 알아야 하고 각 지역마다 대학 교과 과정 범주 안에서 대학 스포츠의 발전에 적극 참여해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The role of sport education for young people - in particular university students - and its importance for the development of the individual personality and the influence on the society and the human relations in general is discussed. The influence is far reaching and even pertains to international, inter-racial and inter-gender relations. While positive effects are prevailing, there are also possible negative implications discussed. Practice and consequences of university sports and the way it is seen by society differs - examples from the US, UK, and Germany are discussed in view of 1) the impact of sport in general on individual development and that of a society 2) the philosophy of sport as driving force for the educational system and the people who run it 3) possible impact of engagement in university sports on the career 4) health impact of physical activities during university education. It turns out that the ideas and expectations of the students have to be analyzed and considered, and a high standard of professionality of the staff has to be guaranteed. Finally, the leadership of the universities have to become aware of the demands and have to be actively involved in the development of university sports within the curricula of any university given the special local situation.
