전투상황하 소부대(小部隊) 리더의 리더십 향상방안 연구 = Research on Measures to Enhance Leadership of Small Unit Leaders in Combat Environments

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대전은 무기의 치명성과 정밀성의 향상으로 인하여 전투원의 생존성이 더욱 중요해졌으며, 또한 전장의 확대가 불가피해져 강한 팀워크로 무장된 소부대 단위의 전투의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 실제 전투가 수행되는 전투현장은 위험, 정보의 부족, 육체적 고통, 전장스트레스 등 각종 마찰요소가 리더를 포함한 모든 전투원들에게 극복하기 힘든 신체적, 심리적인 압박을 가하는 특징이 있다.
소부대 리더는 전투현장에서 부하들과 함께 호흡하며 직접 상황을 파악하고 조치해야 한다. 또한 소부대 리더는 각종 마찰요소를 극복하고 전투를 지휘하여 승리하여야 한다. 전투임무를 수행하는 부대가 전투에서 승리하기 위해서는 전투원들이 전장에서 전투스트레스를 이겨내야 하며, 팀워크를 발휘할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 리더가 흔들림 없이 당당하게 부대를 지휘할 수 있는 리더십을 발휘해야 한다.
본 연구에서는 전장에서 소부대 리더가 어떻게 리더십을 발휘해야 적과의 전투에서 승리할 수 있는가에 중점을 두고 연구하였다. 연구를 통해 실제 전장환경에 대한 이해를 도모하고, 전투에서 나타나는 전투스트레스에 대해서 전장심리의 측면에서 그 원인과 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고 소부대 리더의 효과적인 리더십 향상방안에 대해서 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In modern warfare, emphasis on the survivability of a combatant has heightened due to the increased lethality and precision of weapons, and the expansion of the battlefield has further increased the importance of tight-knit teamwork in small unit combats. In such battlefield conditions, elements of conflicts such as threats, insufficient information, physical distress, and combat stress exert physical and psychological pressure on all combatants, including the leader.
Leader of a small unit has to be actively on-site along with the combatants to understand the battlefield and immediately respond to changing environments. The leader must also overcome all elements of conflict on the battlefield and command the unit to victory. In order for the unit on a combat mission to be successful, combatants must be able to manage the combat stress and work as a team. The leader of the unit, thus, must demonstrate unwavering leadership in confidently commanding the unit.
This research focuses on how leaders of small units must exercise leadership to win the battle against enemy. The research allows greater understanding of the actual battlefield environment, and further analysis in the aspect of battlefield psychology has been conducted on the causes and effects of combat stress. As a result, this research suggests effective ways to enhance leadership of small unit leaders.
