The world is now being grown temperature and sea level due to global warming. A continuous rise is being expected hereafter. Thus, it is the real situation of arranging a measure worldwide. As the Kyoto Protocol came into effect, the reduction-targeted countries centering on the advanced countries are driving the compulsory reduction. Even our country is in the real situation of being necessary for the thorough preparation for being included in the 2nd reduction-targeted states.
As for several kinds of environmental burden chemicals including carbon, the global warming takes place due to metabolism of dwelling population in housing complex. To reduce global warming, it is very important to reduce carbon emission and increase carbon absorption source.
What becomes the most basis out of this carbon absorption source can be said to be green. The green absorbs carbon, thereby lowering atmospheric concentration, and supplies oxygen, thereby producing oxygen to the dwelling population. In this way, the carbon absorption and oxygen emission in trees become the major factor of deciding on quality of green space.
Especially, the carbon storage is different depending on kind of tree in greens. This is because the difference in carbon absorption and oxygen output occurs depending on a kind and density in trees of being gardened even if being apartment complex in similar area.
In other words, for comfortable residential space in apartment complex, there is a need of examining a plan for promoting the devised green effect available for introduction like the green living space within the apartment complex, by calculating carbon absorption and oxygen emission in greens and by fixing density according to it.
The purpose of this study is to examine about warming depending on a climate change, which is becoming an issue globally, and is to suggest an improvement for a green plan through carbon absorption within the apartment complex henceforth through a cause for evolution of carbon, which is major factor of causing warming, and through problems.
For this, it examined the literature on the actual condition of green space in the existing apartment complex, and on carbon absorption calculation and density, and tree-based feature in the green space, and considered literature on improvement in green planting density within apartment complex.
To examine how the carbon absorption is being formed within apartment complex, a case survey was conducted by being recently limited to the outworn and deteriorated areas(Cheonho New Town, improvement promotion district, etc.) within Gangdong-gu in Seoul and to 3 apartments, which were completed construction in 2004∼2007 with 15,000㎡∼25,000㎡ in large-scale apartment complex. Through the results of calculating carbon dioxide absorption according to the green trees and the kinds in a case site, the following are the designed aspects of improvements in a green plan through carbon absorption.
First. what evaluates atmospheric environment on landscape area and density in apartment complex is desirable to evaluate with carbon absorption by kind in green.
Second, to form the apartment complex of coping with a climate change, it is necessary for expanding green space and for increasing carbon absorption and oxygen evolution in consideration of the planting density in trees and the kinds in trees.
Third, there is a need of having it as a means of qualitative assessment on eco-friendly property of green space in housing complex by calculating O2 output and atmospheric(CO2, SO2, NO2) purification of trees in comparison with the dwelling population and the gross area. Carbon storage grows through a plan for securing area according to greenness as for a tree kind with carbon absorption and through a conversion from the center on a coniferous tree to the center on a broad-leaf tree. Thus, there is a need of expanding the coniferous tree planting given a plan for apartment complex.
Fourth, the standard is needed for density in green area in line with our country's multi-housing complex, for carbon absorption calculation and tree-based planting in greens according to the needs of dwellers in apartment complex, through the planting standard for the overseas advanced trees.
