Purpose: Many studies indicate that the assessment based on parent reports is a very reliable and valid procedure for evaluating communication development and provides information that complements the results of the formal test by the examiner. Therefore, the CSBS-DP was designed to evaluate infants and toddlers communication development through caregiver report procedure as well as behavior observation. The study aims to investigate the validity and reliability of Korean version CSBS-DP caregiver questionnaire. Methods: 298 typical developing infants and toddlers aged 6-24 months participated in this study. The original CSBS-DP parent questionnaire was translated into Korean and then was revised through review of child language professionals. The main-caretakers of the participants completed the K CSBS-DP parent questionnaire. Reliability was analyzed by internal consistency and split-half reliability, and validity by concurrent and construct validities based on the collected data. Results: The K CSBS-DP parent questionnaire demonstrated overall good internal consistency and split-half reliability. It also showed good concurrent validity by revealing significant correlation with SELSI and construct validity by confirmatory factor analysis. Conclusions: The results showed that the K CSBS-DP parent questionnaire is a valid and reliable evaluation tool for assessing social communication of Korean infants and toddlers.
