배려윤리의 교사양성교육 적용을 위한 탐색적 연구 = An Exploratory Study on the Application of Caring Ethics to Preservice Teacher Education

Well-cultivated teachers should be nurtured to turn school into a mutually caring place without just allowing it to keep stirring up competition and indifference among students. Typical educational climate that stresses rationality and universality based on the ethics of justice has contributed to making today`s school come to a crisis. The emphasis of caring ethics is placed on producing warm-hearted, mutually dependent people. When it comes to the necessity and ought of education, elementary and secondary schools are usually discussed. It should be noted, however, that teachers cannot teach what they haven`t experienced, and pre-teachers should be educated about caring ethics first of all. The purpose of this study was to delve into the theories of caring ethicists including Noddings in a bid to discuss the application of caring ethics to education. After remodeling of school presented as ways of creating a caring community were investigated, how narrative caring ethics could be inserted into teacher education curriculum was explored. And it`s suggested that unlike other colleges, colleges of education should seek after a relationship-oriented climate to educate pre-teachers who are well aware of the worth of caring and actually provide care to others.
