테러의 대응 방식으로서의 `창조적 분노` - 2015년 11월 13일의 프랑스 파리 테러를 중심으로 = “Creative Anger” as a way to counter terrorism - focused on the Paris terror on 13 Nov. 2015

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 2015년 11월 13일의 프랑스 파리 테러 이후 극단주의와 테러에 대한 프랑스인들의 대응 방식의 분석을 통해 `창조적 분노`가 어떻게 작용했는가를 살펴보고자 했다. 테러에 대한 프랑스인들의 분노와 저항이 소수집단의 일시적 의사표현에 그치지 않고 `참여`를 통한 지속적인 `형제애`의 실천과 `솔리다리테`의 확장의 형식으로 공감하고 있어서이다.
“정당한 분노”와 `톨레랑스`와의 관계 분석을 통해서 테러와 극단주의의 `앵톨레랑스`에 저항하는 “정당한 분노”가 공감을 통해 창조적 분노로 확장됨을 살펴보았다. `편견에 치우침 없는 공평함`을 지향하는 `톨레랑스`는 `앵똘레랑스`에 맞서는 “정당한 분노”를 함의하고 있다.
프랑스 국가 <라 마르세이예즈>와 분노와의 관계 분석을 통해 프랑스 국가 <라 마르세이예즈>가 원칙과 가치의 훼손에 대해 어떻게 분노해야 하는가를 보여주는 분노의 `활용지침서`의 역할을 하고 있음을 보여주고자 했다. 또한 <라 마르세이예즈>는 특정 상황(여기서는 2015년 11월 13일의 테러)과 맞물려 강력한 사회적 분노 표현의 수단이자 상호 연대의 매개, 형제애와 솔리다리테의 표현과 공감의 도구로 기능하고 있음에 주목했다.
마지막으로, `창조적 분노`로서의 `참여`의 문제를 다루었다. 2015년 11월 13일의 파리 테러로 인한 프랑스인들의 사회적 분노는 단합과 `참여` 즉 `형제애`와 `솔리다리테`의 표출의 촉매제가 된다. 보복과 응징의 동기가 아니라 “일상의 회복”을 위한 “참여”의 방식으로 기능하는 `창조적 분노`는 비폭력적 `참여` 즉 `형제애`와 `솔리다리테`로 승화된다는 점에 주목하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to verify how the creative anger of the French operated after the Paris terror conducted by Islamic extremists on 13 November 2015 through the analysis of French responses. With regard to this crisis, it is notable that the French anger and resistance against terror is not just one-time demonstration but they have shown continuous fraternity and solidarity in a way of positive engagement.
Firstly, an anger with good reason for human dignity and tolerance are investigated, which are closely related in French tradition. Thus the creative anger is based on the anger with good reason. It can be defined that the creative anger to restore human dignity is a kind of an anger with good reason to fight against injustice and express their anger. Tolerance is the righteousness without prejudice, which means generosity and broad-mindedness to counter intolerance as a result of exclusion and extremity. Thus the tolerance itself implies the righteous anger against intolerance and emotional tools to counter intolerance is a righteous anger to protect humanity with impartiality. It is also pointed that the righteous anger to fight against terrorism and extremists is extended to creative anger through sympathy.
Secondly, it is analyzed that the relationship between French national anthem, La Marseillaise, sung together in the French Revolution and their anger. La Marseillaise is a guidance on how to react and resent when their democratic principle and value were violated, which especially connotes the operation of collective anger to be used in a social emotion. It seems that La Marseillaise adopts a form of hatred and revenge. But it transforms their anger to righteous one in a positive way. The lyrics in the introduction of Verse 5 in La Marseillaise states that “Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors. Bear or hold back your blows”, which clearly depicts the creative anger by French against intolerance from revenge and punishment. The creative anger denotes the solidarity in connection with the motto, “making it happen if united.” In connection with the terror on 13 November 2015 in Paris, the lyrics of La Marseillaise has been functioned as means of representing strong social anger, medium of social bondage, a language on the social anger against terrorism in the form of delivering resistance message, expressing fraternity and solidarity, and a tool of sympathy.
Finally, the relationship between creative anger and engagement is analyzed. The terror on 13 November 2015 in Paris makes French very angry but their angry became the catalyst of expressing fraternity and solidarity. To restore everyday life, angry can be functioned in the way of engagement, not as a motivation of revenge and punishment. In consequence, creative anger is converted positively into non-violent engagement with popular participation, linked to fraternity and solidarity. It is noteworthy that the main group of emotional solidarity which converts social anger to creative anger is anonymous French.
