This study was designed to identify the relationship between Health Status, Self Efficacy and Health Promoting behavior of primary school teachers and to provide the data for efficient health management for primary school teachers.
The subject of this study was made up 136 primary school teachers in M city.
Data was collected from February 5 to 13, 1997 by guestionnaire method.
Data was analysed by spss - pc program, and revealed to percentage, t-value, ANOVA, and pearson's correlation coefficiency.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. The Health Status mean score on a two point scale was 1.88.
The Self Efficacy mean score on a six point scale was 2.68.
The Health Promoting Behavior mean score on a four scale was 2.66.
2. In Regard to the relationship between Health Status, Self Efficacy and Health Promotion Behavior, Physical Health Status correlated positively with Psychological Health Status(r=.668, p=.000); Health status correlate positively with Self Efficacy(r=.220, p=.005); Health Status correlated positively with Health Promotion Behavior(r=.167, p=.028)., Self Efficacy correlated positively with Health Promotion Behavior(r=290, p=.000).
3. General characteristics influencing the Health Status were as follows:
In the category of Physical Health Status to the perceived health status(F=9.04, p=.000) was revealed to have significant differences.
In the category of Mental Health Status to the sex(t=1.19, p=.009), age(F=3.25, p=.014), duration of work(F=7.14, p=.000) was revealed to have significant differences.
4. General characteristics influencing the Self Efficacy were duration of work(F=3.24, p=.014), perceived health status(F=3.20, p=.016) was revealed to have significant differences.
Based on the above findings, it is suggested to develop nursing intervention to improve Health Status, Self Efficacy of Primary School Teachers enhance Health Promotion Lifestyle.
