고등학교 ‘가정과학’ 교과서의 인구교육 내용 분석: 저출산·고령화 사회 대비를 위한 인구교육 내용체계(2015)를 중심으로 = A Content Analysis of Population Education of High School ‘Home Economics Science’ Textbook : Focused on Content System in Population Education(2015)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 2009 개정 가정과학 교과서에 나타난 인구교육에 대한 반영 정도를 양적, 질적으로 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 고등학교 가정과학 교과서 2종(A, B)을 대상으로 하여 양적·질적 분석을 수행하였다. 그리고 분석틀로는 윤인경 외(2006)에서 개발한 인구교육 내용 체계를 사회의 변화, 국가사회의 요구 등의 내용을 반영하여 수정·보완한 윤인경 외(2015)의 ‘저출산·고령화 사회 대비 학교 인구교육의 내용 체계’로 하였다. 이는 4개의 대영역, 10개의 중영역, 23개의 소영역, 71개의 내용요소로 이루어져 있다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, ‘Ⅰ. 인간존중’ 영역에서는 중영역 ‘1. 인권’ 영역 중 ‘2) 아동의 인권’과 달리 ‘1) 생명 존중과 보호’ ‘3) 고령자의 인권’의 경우는 적게 다루고 있거나 거의 다루어지지 않아 소영역 간 균형이 이루어지지 않고 있었다. 그리고 자료 유형의 경우 중영역 ‘2. 평등’에서 소영역 ‘1) 성 평등’에서만 모든 자료 유형이 활용되고 다른 중영역은 본문 자료만 활용하였다.
둘째, ‘Ⅱ. 가족’ 영역 내 모든 소영역이 교과서 2종 모두에서 다루어지고 있었으며, 자료 유형도 각 교과서에서 본문, 사진·삽화, 읽기자료, 탐구활동 등 다양한 자료 유형을 활용하였다.
셋째, ‘Ⅲ. 인구’ 영역은 총 4개의 대영역 중에서 그 내용이 가장 적은 내용이 반영된 것으로 나타났다. ‘1)저출산 현상’, ‘1) 고령화 현상’, ‘2) 고령화의 전망’의 3개 내용 요소만 반영되어 있었으며, ‘본문’을 통한 내용 전달만이 이루어지고 있어, 자료 유형에서도 다양성이 부족하였다.
넷째, ‘Ⅳ. 복지’ 영역은 크게 ‘1. 공적대비(제도 및 정책)’과 ‘2. 사적대비(진로 및 생애 설계)’로 구분되는데, ‘2. 사적대비(진로 및 생애 설계)’에 대한 내용이 거의 반영되어 있지 않았다. 자료 유형 역시 A 교과서의 경우에는 ‘본문’, B 교과서의 경우에는 ‘읽기자료’로만 제시하고 있었다
이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 ‘가정과학’ 과목은 졸업 후 대학진학 및 사회생활 등 실제적인 진로 준비를 하는 고등학생을 대상으로 하는 교과서임에도 불구하고 인구교육과 관련된 내용이 영역 간에 균형을 이루지 못하고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 자료 유형의 경우도 사진·삽화, 탐구활동, 읽기 자료 보다는 본문 내용에 치중되어 있어 다양한 자료 유형 활용 측면에서 볼 때 다소 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 관련된 내용을 교과서에 보다 적극적으로 반영할 수 있도록 보건복지부, 교육부 등의 부처와의 협의를 통해 교과서 집필자 등이 참고하고 교과서에 제시할 수 있는 자료를 개발하여 제공하고 연수 등을 실시할 필요가 있다. 그리고 저출산·고령사회 대비 및 선제적 대응을 위한 학교 인구교육에 대한 중요성을 보다 많은 교사, 학생, 국민들이 인식할 수 있는 노력들이 선행될 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine a reflection level of population education showed in 2009 revised home economics textbook quantitatively and qualitatively. For this, a quantitative and qualitative analysis was conducted for two kinds(A, B) of high school home economics textbook according to 2009 revised curriculum. In addition, a framework for analysis was ‘The Content System of Population Education in School Adapting for Low Fertility and Aged Society’ of Yoon In-kyung(2015) modifying and supplementing the content system of population education developed by Yoon In-kyung(2006) by reflecting contents such as social change and demand of country. This consists of 4 large domains, 10 middle domains, 23 small domains, and 71 components. Study results are as follows.
First, a domain ‘Ⅰ. Respect for Man´s Life and Dignity’ dealt with ‘1) Life Respect and Protection’ and ‘3) Human Rights of the Aged’ a little or scarcely unlike ‘2) Human Rights of Children’ of a domain ‘1. Human Rights’, so balance between small domains was not kept. In addition, in case of material types, all material types were used only in a small domain ‘1) Gender Equality’ of a middle domain ‘2. Equality’, and other middle domain used only material of the body.
Second, all small domains in a domain ‘Ⅱ. Family’ were addressed in two kinds of textbook, and for material types, each textbook used various material types such as the body, picture, illustration, reading material, and research activity.
Third, it was showed that a domain ‘Ⅲ. Population’ reflects the least contents of four large domains. Only three components such as ‘1) Low Fertility’, ‘1) Aging Phenomenon’, and ‘2) The Prospects of Aging’ were reflected, and only communication of contents was conducted through ‘the body’, so there was insufficient diversity in material types.
Fourth, a domain ‘Ⅳ. Welfare’ was greatly classified into ‘1. Public Preparation(System and Policy)’ and ‘2. Private Preparation(Career and Life Design)’, and ‘2. Private Preparation(Career and Life Design’ was rarely reflected. For material types, A Textbook suggested it only as ‘the body’, and B Textbook suggested it only as ‘reading material’.
