The SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) is known to be difficult to analyse because it is composed of nonlinear components, e, g. , switching regulator, transformer, and diode. Thus some computing tools are necessary for power engineers to analyse and design the SMPS. Although there exist some software package for general electronic circuits, most of them are not adequate to SMPS analysis since they are not accounting for component nonlinearities. If we would take no account of component nonlinearities, we could not analyse the circuit operation correctly, In this paper,a computer program by C language has been developed for analysis and design of SMPS accounting for component non1inearities. It is noted that the hysterisis curve has been linearized piece-wisely, in this paper, to take the nonlinearity of the transformer into consideration, The computer program developed has been applied to the analysis of a flyback DC-DC converter via a computer simulation, which has shown that the program worked correctly, It is also shown that the program can be adopted to SMPS design by checking the circuit operation under the variation of component values.
