The purpose of this study is to present the direction of achievement assessment for accurately measuring the language ability of immigrants. For this, this study analyzed the reading & writing in family center based on four principles of assessment (reliability, validity, authenticity, practicality). Regarding the items for reading, the answer would need to be delicately composed according to the comprehension type and assessment goal, and there should be the differentiation of items considering the hierarchy of items. The writing assessment was composed of items asking about grammatical knowledge. It is necessary to develop questions that can evaluate the ability to write Korean according to immigrants’ proficiency.
