Today Internet is used as not only a source of information but a medium of educational applicative capacity, and it is undertaken a main role as a new teaching-learning environmental factor. This means that learner-centered learning, as we call it, self-directed learning that learner oneself learns actively and autonomously was more important than the concept of pre-existing teacher-centered teaching.
So, in the educational spot today, a new teaching-learning technique that multimedia educational information is contacted with World Wide Web in the course of nature and the Cyber Home Learning that informations and sources from multi-dimentional data presentations are serviced were come true.
In this study, starting from the hypothesis that school-home-community system can be connected organically and the quality of teaching-learning can be improved through National Education Information System based on Gangwon Educational Information Institute(GEII), I want to survey the influences on the Self-Directed Learning Abilities in the Cyber Home Learning and on the base of the survey, I want to reform the teaching-learning methods by studying the actual state on the middle students in a small and medium city.
Therefore, for this study, at first I inquired into the documents followed to the components of the information system based on CMC(Computer Mediated Communication) as a tool in teaching-learning and studied e-Learning as a feature. It was noticed that human-material-technical demends for the cyber teaching-learning information system and the system based on the components were in the middle of the students who wanted Cyber Home Learning and also in the center of home connection, school curriculum, and on-line. And I made a study the environments with the positive searches, so that the learners themselves can set up the directions of learning and the aims and can investigate the learning subjects, solve them, evaluate them under the guides of a teacher.
For this study connected with in-the-spot experiments, I, the studier, made a middle school science-learning lesson for Cyber Home Learning and managed the lesson on 179 1st graders. I also made a study of the hypothesis for the theme of this study and it turned out that Cyber Home Learning caused to change the students positively in self-directed learning, step-by-step learning, learning powers and their confident learning attitudes about the lessons. And I got the analysis that the learning effects were produced positively by progressing self-learning through the suitable working strateges and the learning contents.
As a result, today in the sea of information from the multimedia, an educational learning theory that abilities for self-finding and choosing informations, self-learning are really demended more than much knowledge was analyzed into the product that the positive effects can be acquired by developing Self-Directed Learning Abilities through Cyber Home Learning.
