음주친구가 청소년의 음주시작에 미치는 영향:: 사회학습이론과 친구연결망 효과를 중심으로 = The Effects of Friends who drink on Adolescent Drinking Onset: Focusing on Social Learning Theory and Friends Network Effect

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최초 음주시작 연령이 빠를수록 성인기에 알코올 관련 문제를 경험할 가능성이 높은 것으로 알려져 있음에도 불구하고, 기존연구들은 청소년의 음주를 단편적으로 접근하여왔다. 본 연구는 청소년들의 음주시작에 초점을 맞춰 그 경향을 알아보고, 사회학습이론과 사회연결망적 접근을 바탕으로 하여 음주친구가 청소년의 음주시작에 미치는 영향력을 분석하고자 하였다. 더불어 음주친구의 효과가 유유상종으로 인한 동류선호의 결과인지, 친구연결망을 통한 확산의 결과인지 그 맥락을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 청소년정책연구원에서 수집한 한국청소년패널조사(KYPS: Korea Youth Panel Survey)중 초등학교 4학년 패널 5개년도 자료(2003-2007년)를 이용하여 카플런-마이어 생존분석과 이산시간 사건사분석을 실시하였다. 카플런-마이어 생존분석 결과 음주친구는 청소년의 음주시작 생존자 함수를 급격히 낮추는 것으로 나타났으며, 이산시간 사건사 분석 결과, 이러한 음주친구의 영향력은 다른 비행이론에서 제시되는 변수들을 통제한 상황에서도 매우 강건하게 나타났다. 한편, 음주친구의 효과와 분석기간(연령)간의 상호작용효과를 살펴본 결과, 분석 후기로 진행될수록 음주친구의 효과는 점차 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 청소년의 친구연결망 내 음주친구의 존재가 음주를 학습 가능하게 하고, 이로 인해 음주시작이 연결망 내에서 확산될 가능성이 존재함을 함의한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The early age of drinking onset is significantly associated with alcohol problem in adulthood. Therefore the alcohol drinking onset during adolescence should be paid more attention and developed further academically. This study aims to investigate the effects of friends who drink to alcohol drinking onset in South Korean adolescences and examine the context of effects within friends network(homophily or diffusion). A 5-year (2003-2007) panel data from Korea Youth Panel Survey (KYPS) were analyzed for this study. And I carried out Kaplan-Meier survival analysis on age of alcohol drinking onset and discrete-time event history analysis to find out a possibility of causal relationship between friends who drink and alcohol drinking onset. The results showed that the survivor function of alcohol drinking onset differs greatly depending on the presence of friends who drink. And based on the discrete-time event history analysis, the effect of friends who drink is strongly associated with alcohol drinking onset. Furthermore, interaction effects between duration (age) and friends who drink are detected. These findings imply that friends who drink within friends effect on learning of drinking and evidence of diffusion within friends network
