In this study, I trace the process of reformation on the government service appointment system(科擧制度) and the role of Grand School(太學) having been changed it`s curriculum in the period of before and after the reformation year 1894. After 1876, the government of Chosen Dynasty had made several efforts to face out the new trend in state management. That was to cultivate men of not only talent on traditional Confucian classics but also ability to preform new administrative tasks. And to establish the reasonable appointment system by which the bilateral competent men could advance to the suitable positions from all throughout the nation. These project could be preformed on the basis of traditional school system and the newly established modern schools. As the results of this study, the traditional government service appointment system of Chosen Dynasty was not abruptly canceled without any preparations or proceeding arrangements. And the new curriculum of Grand School and traditional school system played some important role in that reformation process. In other words, we might see the history of education in the balanced insight or understanding which the new and old system of education or administration could coexist even in the period of reformation. Present times cannot exist without the past. In any times and places, there no period is to stand by cutting away the traditional period and system.
