마을교육공동체 실천을 위한 학교와 마을 사이: 낭시와 블랑쇼의 공동체론을 중심으로 = The Distance between the School and Village (Maeul) for Practices of Village Education Communities: Focusing on the Community Theories of Nancy and Blanchot

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 마을교육공동체 개념에 대한 비판적 고찰을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 마을교육공동체를 둘러싼 일종의 신화로 자리잡은 사회적 염원이 무엇인지 검토하고, 그 안에 내포된 교육과 공동체 개념을 분석한다. 나아가 ‘공동체’라는 개념에 함의된 존재론적 의미를 장-뤽 낭시(Jean-luc Nancy)와 모리스 블랑쇼(Maurice Blanchot)의 논의를 중심으로 고찰한다. 이들의 공동체론은 동일성과 전체성으로 환원되지 않는 공동체에 대하여 죽음과 실존의 차원에서 조망된다. 특히 블랑쇼의 공동체론은 낭시의 사유를 보완하며, 인간 존재의 구성적 조건으로서 밝혀낼 수 없지만 말해야만 하는 공동체의 가능성을 드러낸다. 본 연구는 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 조르주 바타유(Georges Bataille)의 ‘세계의 재주술화’ 개념을 통해 공동체 실천의 방향을 탐색한다. 아울러 마스켈라인과 시몬스(Masschelein and Simons)의 학교 교육에 대한 철학적 논의를 바탕으로, 마을교육공동체 실천을 위하여 마을과 학교 간의 적절한 거리두기의 필요성을 제기한다. 끝으로 낭시와 블랑쇼의 공동체론에 입각한 마을교육공동체의 구체적 실천을 제안하고자 한다.

This study examined the concept of the village education community. Myths surrounding the concept and embedded notions of education and community were investigated and analyzed. Furthermore, the ontological implications of “community” through the lens of Jean-Luc Nancy and Maurice Blanchot were explored. Their theories of community offer a perspective grounded in death and existence, emphasizing that communities cannot be reduced to sameness or totality. Blanchot’s perspective complements Nancy’s, revealing the possibility of a community that—while impossible to fully articulate—must be addressed as a fundamental condition of human existence.
Based on these discussions, the direction of communal practices was explored through Georges Bataille’s concept of the “re-enchantment of the world.” In addition, drawing on the philosophical perspectives of schooling held by Masschelein and Simons, findings of this study indicate the necessity of maintaining a critical distance between villages and schools in the implementation of village education communities. Finally, specific practices for village educational communities based on Nancy and Blanchot’sBlanchot’ s communal theories are proposeds.
