아파트 옥탑의 미관에 대한 연구 = On penthouse appearances of apartment buildings

국문 초록 (Abstract)

아파트를 많이 짓는 것은 도시의 인구집중에 따른 주택문제해결책의 주된 선택으로 보인다. 한국 주택의 전반적인 질적여건(난방, 급탕, 수세식 변소, 방범등 생활 및 관리상의 편의)은 대다수 사람들이 현실적으로 아파트를 선호하게 만들었다.
신도시, 농촌도시에까지 대규모 아파트단지가 들어서고 고층 대형 건물군을 만들어 도시경관을 지배하고 있다. 새로이 지어지는 이들 아파트 건물군은 너무 밀집되고, 너무 크고 높아 친근감을 잃고 있으며 보이는 하늘을 좁혀 답답한 감을 준다.
그 중에서도 이들 건물의 옥탑들은 왜 그렇게 흉칙하게 높이 돌출하고 있는지 몹시 궁금했다. 아파트 옥탑에 대한 불미감은 많은 사람들의 공감대를 이루고 있음을 확인하였다.
아파트의 옥탑은 우선 옥상면에의 출입 필요에 따른 불가결의 공간이다.(옥상의 보수관리, 재난등) 여기에 엘리베이터 기계실과 옥상수조등 설비의 필요에 따라 옥탑이 커지는 것은 자연스러운 일이라 하겠다.
그러나 하필 좁고 높게 돌출하여 스카이 라인을 망치고 있는 것은 옳지 않아 보인다. 아파트 옥탑의 기형화 원인을 살펴본 바 급수조의 과도한 수압추구, 벽식구조의 편의주의에 건설이기주의를 방치한 건축 법규상의 맹점을 발견하였다.
또한 옥탑 자체의 형태적 변화추구는 미관에 별로 도움이 되지 못하며, 디자인 7요소중 제4의 요소인 크기(Size, Proportion)의 문제를 심각히 고려함이 옳음을 알았다.
공간계획상의 대책으로는 최상층부에 물을 안써도 좋은 공부방, 침실, 창고들을 둘 수 있는 메조네트형을 고려한다든가 구조적으로는 즘더 넓고 낮은 옥탑을 고려하고 수압요구에도(가압식등 다른 방법을 원용하거나) 절제를 수용하는 것이 좋겠다. 제도적으로는 법규를 적절히 강화하고, 미관심의의 지침을 마련하는 것이 좋겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Building apartment houses seems to be a solution to the problem of housing affairs according to the growth of population in urban areas.
The quality of Korean housing situations(heating, water supply, W·C, security, efficient management) have made many people favor apartment houses.
From a new city to little farming town large apartment complex came to built and made big, high building masses, dominating urban sights.
Newly built these apartment masses made us unfamiliar because they are too dense and high and narrowed skies made us breathless.
Among them I become qurious why the penthouse on top of apartment houses are so ugly high. The uglyness of penthouse commonly certified by many people.
Penthouse is indispensibie space for a passway to the top of apartment building. (repair, escape etc)
In addation to this, the biggerness of penthouse according to the necessity of elevator motor room and water tank space is natural thing.
But it seems wrong to rise so narrow and high, disturbing skyline.
After searching for a origin of distortion of the shape of apartment penthouse, I have found excessive pursuit of water pressure on top water tank, pursuit of easy wall structure, blind point of a building code leaving construction selfishness.
In addition, the pursuit of varying shape of penthouse can not be helpful to appearance of it and come to know that we should consider the fourth element among seven design element, "size".
For a countermeasure in planning, consider study room, bed room, store house that would not need water in type of masonnette on top floor, and in structural aspect consider somewhat wide and low penthouse, or be moderate to the demand of water pressure(consider another way like using pump).
For a development of system it is recommendable to reinforce building code moderately, and make appearance deliberation guide.
