<AbsText> THAT INDEFATIGABLE MILITARY HISTORIAN, Mr John Fortescue, who is also the librarian and deputy archivist at Windsor Castle, has recently discovered among the Royal archives an account of the battle of Albuera, written on the field by Ensign B. Hobhouse, of the 57th Regiment, which with His Majesty's permission was published in the Times of Feb. 25 last. The document only deals with the battle from the experiences of the writer himself, but it shows what a terrible fight it was, and the young officer frankly states that the scene of action afforded a sight which he could not attempt to describe, as he could not think of it but with horror. </AbsText>
