<훈민정음 용어 사전>의 구축과 그 쟁점-원본 『훈민정음(訓民正音)』(1446)의 <예의(例義)>를 중심으로- = A Study on the Compilation of the Hunminjeongeum(1446) Terminology Dictionary and its Issues

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 15세기의 민족 문화 유산이자 인문 고전인 『訓民正音』의 <例義> 부분을 중심으로 <훈민정음 용어 사전>의 구축을 위한 사전 편찬 기술의 여러 문제를 살펴본 것이다. 『訓民正音』은 신문자와 관련하여 단순히 그 언어학적 견해뿐만이 아니라, 문자학, 중국 성운학, 역철학 등의 개념과 내용을 담고 있는 문헌으로서 사료적 가치는 대단하다.
이 논문의 본문에서는 훈민정음 용어 사전의 구축의 전제로 한문본 『訓民正音』의 텍스트 구조에 대한 이해, 훈민정음 용어 사전의 거시적인 편찬 방향, 올림말의 선정과 수록 범위의 문제, 올림말의 배열과 표기, 원어 정보의 문제, 뜻풀이와 우리말 번역의 문제, 참고어의 문제 등에 대하여 심도 있게 다루었다. 또한 마지막으로 훈민정음 용어가 그 사전에서 실현될 수 있는 실제 편찬의 예를 제시해 보고자 하였다.
『訓民正音』은 텍스트 자체가 한문으로 되어 있기 때문에 대중적 제약이 있다. 그러나 한글의 원형, 훈민정음의 문헌 『訓民正音』이 대중과 만나고 그 역사적 가치를 넓게 공유하기 위한 접근으로 <훈민정음 용어 사전>의 구축은 인문학적으로 필요한 실천적 작업이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to discuss several problems for the compilation of the popular Hunminjeongeum terminology dictionary. Hunminjeongeum(訓民正音) is a national cultural heritage and carries significant historical value as this document shows Hangeul`s original form. However, Hunminjeongeum was written in Classical Chinese and thus, cannot be easily understood by the general public. Therefore, it is necessary to easily explain the terms appearing in the text in Korean. This paper deals with the linguistic and lexicological problems associated with compiling a terminology dictionary of Hunminjeongeum.
This thesis first examines the text structure of the “Hunminjeongeum”. In addition, in this paper I propose a new method for the translation of the Hunminjeongeum terminology, and also examine the direction of macroscopic compilation of the Hunminjeongeum dictionary, the selection and recording range of the headwords, the arrangement and notation of the headwords, and the problem of reference vocabulary. Finally, I attempt to give an example of a practical compilation in which the Hunminjeongeum terminology can be realized in a dictionary.
