하이퍼미디어에 작동기억, 탐색도구 제시방식 및 고등사고력에 따른 정신모형 형성에 미치는 효과 = The Effects of Working Memory, Navigation tools and HigherｰOrder Thinking Skills on Mental Model Construction in Hypermedia

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The main purpose of the study was to investigate effects of three hypermedia navigation tools of the list, the structural map, and the structural map with its explanation on building individual student's mental model regarding the learning task in terms of their levels of higherｰorder thinking skills and working memory capacity. This study predicted that providing a navigational tool with explanation of itself would be more beneficial to students with lower prior knowledge to construct their own mental model of learning tasks.
71 college students for the experiment were randomly assigned to one of the three experimental conditions：list, structural map, or structural map with its explanation. Subject's working memory capacity and higherｰorder thinking skills were measured. The dependent variables of experiment were subjects' recall test scores and knowledgeｰmapping scores. Participants were given the pretest, a hypermedia assisted learning program of 'Endocrine Disrupters'. After finishing experiment, the paper and pencil test was given to the subjects to evaluate their levels of recall. Subsequently they were required to draw out their own knowledge maps on papers.
The results from the experiment were as follows:
First, there was significant interaction effect between navigation tools and phonological loop. Even if subjects with high working memory won highest scores regardless of navigational tools, low working memory students got higher scores under the conditions of structural map and structural map with its explanation than the condition of the list tool. Second, there was significant interaction effect between navigation tools and higherｰorder thinking skills on the achievement.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 탐색도구 제시방식을 목차형 하이퍼미디어 탐색도구, 구조도형 하이퍼미디어 탐색도구, 구조도 설명형 하이퍼미디어 탐색도구 등으로 유형화하여 이 세 가지 유형의 탐색도구 제시방식이 학습자들의 작동기억과 고등사고력에 따라 정신모형의 형성에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 탐색도구 제시방식에 따라 피험자 71명을 3개 집단에 배치하였다. 이들은 모두 작동기억 용량검사와 고등사고력 검사를 미리 받았고 학습프로그램 사전지식검사를 받은 후 “환경호르몬” 학습프로그램을 학습하였다. 프로그램학습이 끝난 직후에 학습내용 사후 기억검사와 사후 지식도검사를 받았다. 실험결과, 작동기억 수준이 높은 학습자는 사후 정신모형검사 성취도에서 탐색도구의 제시방식에 따른 차이가 없었지만, 작동기억 수준이 낮은 학습자는 사후 정신모형검사의 성취도에서 탐색도구의 제시방식에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 다음, 고등사고력 수준과 탐색도구 제시방식에 따른 상호작용 효과도 유의미하게 나타났다.
