간화선 수행의 현황과 제언 - 재가자 선수행을 중심으로 - = A Status and Suggestions about Ganhwa Seon practice programs

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 한국불교의 전통적인 수행법인 간화선이 현재 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지를 정리하고, 중생들의 삶의 문제에 보다 적극적으로응답할 수 있도록 간화선 수행 프로그램의 발전 방향을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 간화선 수행 프로그램의 유형을 구분분석하였다. 재가자 대상의 간화선 프로그램을 운영 목적에 따라 ① 신행활동 목적형과 ② 체험목적형, ③ 집중수행형으로 구분하였다. 두 번째간화선 수행 프로그램 개선방향은 3가지로 제시하였다. 첫째, 참가자들의 근기와 준비정도에 따라 프로그램을 선택할 수 있도록 프로그램유형을 세분화해야 한다. 둘째, 수행의 보편화와 체계화를 위해서 재가자들의 수행 이력을 기록하고 관리하는 체계가 필요하다. 같은 맥락에서 수행지도인력과 수행 프로그램에 대한 조사와 관리도 요구된다. 마지막으로 간화선 수행에 한국불교의 정체성과 내용을 제대로담기 위해 한국불교의 정체성을 담고 있는 경전과 조사어록을 교재로활용하는 노력도 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article seeks two purposes. The first purpose is to clarify how Ganhwa Seon, the traditional practice of Korean Buddhism, is currently being done, and the second purpose is to suggest the development direction of the Ganhwa Seon practice program to respond more positively to the problems of Korean people. This paper summarizes the status of seon practice programs for lay Buddhists. According to the purpose of the Ganhwa Seon programs, the Seon programs can be classified into ① a Buddhist Activities program type, ② a Buddhist Culture Experiential program type, and ③ an intensive seon practice program type. Secondly, there are three ways to improve the Ganhwa Seon practice program. First, the type of templestay program should be subdivided so that participants can choose a program based on their capability and level of preparation.
Second, to generalize and systematize practice, it is necessary to record and manage the records of the lay Buddhist. Finally, to include the identity and contents of Korean Buddhism in the Ganhwa Seon practice, it is also necessary to utilize the Buddhist Scriptures and the spiritual patriarch books that contain the identity of Korean Buddhism as textbooks.
