Due to the fact that human brains process images better than sets of words or numbers, the notion of information visualization has been increasingly expanding across business settings. Groupware, however, has selectively used information graphics in the convergence stage only, neglecting to exercise its potentials in the conveyance stage. Thus, two options – bar and dot charts that are the most commonly used in business – are explored to measure their effectiveness in inducing social facilitation. The result shows that a bar chart over a dot chart is much more effective when stimulating performance with a visual aid in computer-based interaction.
