The purpose of this study is to determine whether grief art therapy is effective in overcoming the sense of loss in a child who has lost his mother. The study participant was a 6-year-old boy who had lost his mother and was showing signs of anxiety. The study was conducted for a total of 20 sessions, each lasting 40 minutes, from March to July 2023. The research tools used were the Bird's Nest Drawing (BND) and House Tree Person (HTP) drawing tests, and the activities and changes in each session were recorded. The results of this study are as follows. First, grief art therapy was effective in reducing anxiety in a child who lost his mother. Second, a child who experienced his mother’s bereavement through grief art therapy showed positive emotional states and changes in attitude. Through this study, it was confirmed that grief art therapy is effective in overcoming the sense of loss in a child who has experienced the loss of his mother.
