연대(solidarity)와 전유(appropriation)의 갈등적 역학－ 포스트 콜로니얼리즘, 탈민족주의, 젠더 이론의 관계를 중심으로 = Between ‘solidarity’ and ‘appropriation’－ Post colonialism, post nationalism and gender theory

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 포스트 콜로니얼리즘 이론과 젠더 이론의 상호 관계에 대해서 논하고 있다. 이 논문의 근본 목적은 두 이론이 공유하는 토대의 ‘우연성’과 불확정성을 강조함으로써 이론은 그 자체로 비판적인 의미를 지니는 것이 아니라, 이론적 실천을 통해서만 이론의 비판성이 구성된다는 것을 강조하는 것이다. 또 포스트 콜로니얼리즘 이론은 경계를 넘는 이론적 실천의 하나로서 학문적, 국가적 경계를 넘는 연대를 중요한 실천 전략으로 제시하고 있지만, 여기서 연대와 전유의 차이와 경계 또한 모호한 것이 사실이다. 연대에 대한 이론적 논의는 때로는 실천적 차원에서는 이질적인 이론에 대한 전유로 전화하기도 하기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 포스트 콜로니얼리즘 이론과 젠더 이론의 상호 관계와, 현재 한국에서 진행중인 역사 논쟁 및 문화적 경향 등을 통해서 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 특히 해방 전후사의 재인식을 둘러싼 논란은 민족주의 비판으로 단일 의제화 된 담론 지형이 어떻게 손쉽게 이질적인 차이의 정치학을 전유하는가를 보여주는 대표적 사례라고 볼 수 있다. 또 월드컵 열풍이나 최근의 문화적 현상에서 나타나는 카니발적 내셔널리즘은 1990년대 이후 지속된 하위문화의 카니발적 성격을 민족주의/국가주의적으로 전유한 대표적인 사례이기도 하다. 또 아시아의 여타 지역에서 이루어진 포스트 콜로니얼리즘에 관한 논쟁을 검토함으로써 한국에서의 이론적 논의의 지형도가 과도하게 민족주의와 탈민족주의라는 단일 의제에 집중된 것은 역사에 대한 과잉된 열기와 현재적인 이론적 실천에 대한 관심의 후퇴라는 퇴영적 현상의 결합물이라는 것을 비판적으로 고찰하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Postcolonialism is complex constitution which manifest the solidarity with the diversity kind of the politics, especially with the feminism. But the common foundation between the feminism and the postcolonialism is only contingent. In the term of “contingent foundation”, my focuss is not making specific the feminism but the making issue about the formation of the practice of the theory.
In this dissertation, my main them is about the appropriation of the new, radical politics by the dominant ideological apparatus. Rethinking Colonial-Postcolonial History(2006), “Welcome to Dongmak Goel”(2005), and frenzy about the cheer of World Cup soccer game(2002) is the symptom of this kind of appropriation. In the production and reproduction of this kind of appropriation, the complex subjectification is on act. In this subjectification, the ready made, and dominant mode of subject is remain, but in another aspect some kind of the break away from that dominant mode is also on act. With the new term, “Carnival Nationalism”, I research the characteristic property of this new type of subjectification.
