동네놀이터의 질적 환경 수준이 아동 및 부모의 놀이터 이용에 미치는 영향 = Effects of local playground quality on playground use of children and parents

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of the quality of a playground that is located within 400 m from a local residence on the playground use of children and parents.
Methods: The quality of 43 local playgrounds located in Seoul was assessed and the number of visitors was counted. The average playtime and frequency of visits in the playground were surveyed from the visitors. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistics and stepwise regression.
Results: First, among the quality of local playground, ‘Risk-taking and challenging play’ had a positive effect on the number of children and parents visitors. ‘Location and accessibility’ predicted significant increases in the number of children visitors. Second, ‘Various play experiences’ was significant in influencing children's playtime and ‘Risktaking and challenging play’ had a positive effect on parents' playtime. However, the quality of the local playground was not significant in influencing the frequency of visits.
Conclusions: These results suggest specific directions on how to promote children and their parents use of playgrounds.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구목적: 본 연구는 아동이 일상에서 주로 이용하는 동네놀이터를 대상으로 아동의 놀이적 관점에서 놀이터의 다양한 질적 환경이 아동 및 부모의 놀이터 이용에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다.
방법: 서울시에 위치한 동네놀이터 총 43개를 선정하여 질적 환경을 평정하였고, 놀이터를 방문하는 아동 및 부모 이용객수를 관찰하였으며, 이용객의 일주일 당 평균 놀이터 이용시간 및 빈도를 설문하였다. 수집된 자료를 토대로 놀이터 이용객수, 이용 시간 및 빈도를 종속변인으로, 놀이터 질적 환경을 독립변인으로 한 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
결과: 첫째, 놀이터의 질적 환경 특성 중 ‘위험 감수 및 도전적인 놀이’는 아동 및 부모 이용객수에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤으며, ‘위치 및 접근성’은 아동 이용객수를 유의하게 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 놀이터의 질적 환경 특성 중 ‘다양한 놀이 경험의 제공’은 아동의 놀이터 이용시간에, ‘위험 감수 및 도전적인 놀이’는 부모의 놀이터 이용시간에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 질적 환경 수준이 아동 및 부모의 놀이터 이용 빈도에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다.
결론: 본 연구 결과를 토대로 놀이터의 이용을 증진시킬 수 있는 구체적인 방향을 제안하였다.
