팬데믹과 중독 행동 : 정신건강사회복지에의 함의 = Pandemic and Addictive Behaviors : Implications for Mental Health Social Work

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact not only on physical health, but also on mental health. The UN has called COVID-19 and mental health “Parallel Pandemic,” and has declared that COVID-19 is a disaster that devastates mental health(UN, 2021). Previous studies have reported an increase in various addictive behaviors such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, and the Internet in disaster situations such as pandemics. However, in Korea, there is a lack of social work practice and policy interest for addictive behaviors in disaster situations. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the pandemic on addictive behaviors, focusing on the four major addictions: alcohol, drugs, gambling, and the Internet, through literature review. Based on results, the implications for mental health social work for addicted clients in the post COVID-19 era were discussed

코로나19 팬데믹은 신체 건강뿐만 아니라 정신건강에도 막대한 영향을 미쳤다. UN은 코로나19와 정신건강을 “Parallel Pandemic”으로 칭하면서, 코로나19가 정신건강을 황폐화하는 재난임을 천명한 바 있다(UN, 2021). 해외 연구에서는 팬데믹 등의 재난 상황에서 알코올, 마약, 도박, 인터넷 등의 다양한 중독 행동이 증가함을 보고하였다. 하지만, 국내에서는 재난시기 중독 행동의 변화 양상 및 이에 따른 사회복지적 관심은 매우 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 문헌 고찰을 통해 알코올, 마약, 도박, 인터넷 등 4대 중독을 중심으로 팬데믹이 중독 행동에 미친 영향을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 바탕으로 포스트 코로나 시대 중독 클라이언트에 대한 정신건강사회복지 정책 수립 및 실천 현장에서의 대응 방안을 모색하고자 한다.
