헤어 디자이너에 대한 社會的 認識 = Research of Hair Designers’ Social Recognition

With radical change of modern society, various kinds of vocations has appeared and the estimation of the existing vocations has been different. Accordingly, the recognition of the hair design area has rapidly changed. Therefore, it is necessary to check out exactly the degree of social status of hair designer. For the reason, the purpose of this study is to find out the public’s recognition of hair designers’ vocational respect, of hair designers’ quality and qualification and of hair designers’ welfare an economical status.The process of the study is data survey, questionnaire survey, analysis, synthesis and assessment. On the basis of assessment, we grasped what is needed to improve and groped the desirable solution for settling the Korean hair designers' status. Among 485 subjects, women are 72.8% and men are 27.2%. The age of the subjects is between in their fifties and seventies, 34.8% coming under that age. The schooling is most in high school graduation, 49.1%. coming under that schooling. Viewing the result, we find that the public generally estimate well hair designers’ social status, vocational development and favor degree for the vocation. However, they think the welfare for hair designers is still weak and it's true in reality. We hope this study will be a foothold to make the public’s recognition of hair designers high and will, through the increase of this recognition, help to improve the hair designers’ quality, professionalism and morale.
