The study on the relation between Calvin and syllogismus practicus which is a logical construction used by the Reformed in order to establish the certitudo electionis in and for and individual has been made from their point, bringing about different results. This article, however, analysing their opinions, established the relation rightly on the Calvin`s point. As a result we could prove that there is syllogismus practices in Calvin when we followed its definition of Turretin which is not related with conduct but with faith. For Calvin the certainty is related not with conduct but with faith. So in seeking the certainty of our election, we may cling to those latter signs which are sure attestations of it and are epitomized by faith; we recognize through faith that we are elected. In other words, the basis of the certainty of our election is Christ and it is possible by the Holy Spirit through believing that we are engrafted to Christ for us to be convinced of it. Here the work of Christ and that of the Holy Spirit can not be separated. In this meaning we can say that there is syllogismus practicus in Calvin`s doctrine of predestination.
