개미와 개미거미의 형태학적 비교 = The Comparative Study of Salticid Spiders and Ants Inferred from Morphology

국문 초록 (Abstract)

개미와 유사한 깡충거미인 거미개미속의 4종의 형태에 관한 연구가 실험실과 현장에서 실행되었다. 거미개미는 형태적으로 개미와 유사하며, 이 논문에서는 이러한 형태적 특징에 대해 연구되었다. 개미는 형태적 다양성과 의태를 할뿐 아니라 천적에게 매력적인 먹이가 아니기 때문에 생존에 있어 유리함을 가진다. 개미거미는 깡충거미과에 속하지만 형태적, 행동적 특징에서 깡충거미와 여러 차이점을 지닌다. 또한 깡충거미과에는 개미거미속 뿐 아니라 어리개미거미속이 속한다. 개미거미속과 어리개미거미속은 형태적 특성과 행동 방식에 따라 분류된다. 이 연구에서 개미거미와 개미가 같은 서식처를 가질 경우 형태적으로 매우 유사함이 관찰되었다. 거미개미속의 먹이 습성 등의 독특한 특징은 개미와 같은 형태를 나타내는데 중요한 요인이 된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The morphology of 4 species of Myrmarachne, ant-like salticids, was studied in the laboratory and the field. As ant-like salticids were found to resemble ants, the morphological characteristics were investigated. Because ants have morphological diversity and use mimicry, and also they are in-attractive as well as dangerous preys to the natural enemies, they have advantages of survival in nature. Although ant-like salticids belong to Salticidae, there are variable differences such as morphological characteristics, behaviors between ant-like salticids and salticids. Besides, Synagelides also blonges Salticidae. Myrmarachne and Synagelides were divided through morphological differences and behaviors. In this study, we observed that the morphology of ant-like salticids and ants are similar if the habitat of two species is same. It appears that the unusual features of Myrmarachne's predatory behavior are important in enabling these spiders to preserve their ant-like appearance.
