욕망의 은유(隱喩)·환유(換喩)적 전개를 통한 회화 표현성 연구 = (A) study on the painting expressivity through the unfolding of metaphor and metonymy of the desire

국문 초록 (Abstract)

주체는 욕망하기에 존재한다. 욕망은 주체의 존재 당위성을 부여하는 것으로서 끊임없이 대상을 갈구하고, 대상을 획득한 후에도 어쩔 수 없이 계속되어지며 또 다른 욕구를 찾아 헤매이게 된다. 이는 결여로서의 주체, 그 시작에 기인하는 것으로 완전한 것으로부터 분리되어져 세상에 놓여진 불완전한 주체가 자신의 나머지를 소유하기 위해 분투하는 계속되는 몸부림인 것이다.
주체의 욕망은 의식에 의해 계속 억압되어진다. 그리고 현실에서 억압되어진 욕망은 꿈속에 이르러서야 비로소 충족되어진다. 이는 지극히 개인적이고도 주관적인 주체의 일면으로서, 소소한 일상의 욕구로부터 스스로도 인지하지 못한 의식 저편의 욕망으로까지 다양한 모습으로 상정되어질 수 있다.
욕망의 꿈 속 충족을 위해 주체는 무언가 새로운 과정을 구축해 낸다. 이것이 바로 꿈속에서도 계속되어지는 검열을 피하기 위해 스스로가 만들어낸 여러 가지 메카니즘들이다. 프로이트는 이를 응축, 전이, 연극화, 상징화, 이차적 가공 등으로 개념화하여 이들이 억압된 소망을 꿈속에서 충족시키기 위해 어떻게 꿈 내용을 재구성하였는지를 분석한다. 의식의 검열을 따돌리기 위한 이러한 가공들은 꿈 내용을 비논리적이고도 불합리한 것으로 설정케 한다. 그러므로 주체의 욕망을 얽어내기 위해 우리는 꿈 내용을 보다 적극적으로 탐색해 보아야 하며 동시에 이들의 원천인 억압의 기조를 이해하여야 한다.
라캉은 그의 욕망이론에서 주체는 타자 욕망과의 동일시 과정을 통해 거울단계의 타자의식을 형성하게 되는데, 이로서 대상을 향한 보다 다양하고 유연한 시각을 가지게 된다고 역설한다. 이는 그의 이론만이 가지는 미덕이라 할 수 있다. 라캉은 프로이트의 리비도(Libido)를 보고자 하는 시선의 리비도로 치환한 후에 '봄'과 '보여짐'이라는 양방의 대립항을 타자의식으로 풀이해 간다. 그리고 그는 비로소 자신과 함께 타자의 욕망을 싸안는 폭넓은 주체의식에 도달하게 되는 것이다.
본인은 주체의 욕망을 담론화하는 과정에서 위와 같이 크게 프로이트와 라캉의 이론을 근간으로 삼는다. 그리고 꿈 사고로의 접근과 그 속의 욕망을 표현함에 있어 본인은 영원한 결핍으로의 주체와 은유·환유의 패러다임 그리고 욕망을 투영하는 거울에 주목한다. 욕망을 통해 주체의 존재감을 확인하고 이의 표출을 또 다른 꿈 내용으로 접근 시키려는 일련의 작업들은 그러므로 관람자로 하여금 화면 너머 이미지들을 엿보게 하여주고 숨겨진 욕망을 찾아내게 하는 동시에 자신의 모습을 그 속에 투영하고 이입케 하여 거울단계로의 욕망 해석을 가능케 하였다.
끊임없는 결여로서의 꿈과 욕망을 작업의 담론으로 한정지으면서 본인은, 화면 속에서 해석되어진 꿈, 그리고 욕망을 이야기한다. 화면을 사이에 두고 보고, 보여지는 시선과 응시의 리비도를 고려하며 동시에 거울이라는 장치에 주목하여 주체와 욕망을 보다 폭넓은 사고로 접근해 보고자 하였다. 그리고 이를 위해 사진 이미지와 복사의 과정, 중첩되는 반복적 요소, 기호와 상징의 체계, 그리고 회화표현의 유기적인 요소들을 이용하였다.
꿈 속 내용을 일종의 코드화로 분석해 나가며 그 속에서 또 다른 타자와의 재회를 시도하는 본인의 작업은, 그러므로 꿈 속 욕망의 은유·환유적 표현의 전개인 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Subject exists as it desires. Desire craves for subject endlessly, and it is continued unavoidably and gets to wander in search of another desire as what gives what should be about the existence of subject. This is the subject as deficiency, writhing that incomplete subject placed in the world by being separated from complete thing continues to fight so as to possess the rest of itself as what is caused by the start.
The desire of subject is oppressed endlessly by consciousness. And, desire oppressed in actuality is satisfied in dream for the first time. This may be imagined in the diverse forms from the desire of trivial daily affairs to the desire on the other side of consciousness that itself failed to recognize as one side of extremely individual and subjective subject.
Subject establishes new course for the satisfaction of desire in dream. This is just various mechanisms that itself made so as to avoid the inspection to be continued in dream. Freud conceptualized it with condensation, displacement, dramatization, symbolization, and secondary elaboration etc. and analyzed how they reconstituted dream contents so as to satisfy oppressed wish in dream. These fancies for excluding the inspection of consciousness get to establish dream contents as illogical and irrational thing. Therefore, so as to read the desire of subject, we should try to search for dream contents more positively and should understand the basis of oppression which is the source of these at the same time.
Jacques Lacan emphasized that subject gets to form the other consciousness of mirror stage through the course of identifying with other desire and that subject gets to have more diverse and flexible sight toward subject with this, through his desire theory. This may be referred to as the virtue that only his theory has. Lacan solves the opposition of both directions to be 'seeing' and 'to be seen' with other consciousness after substituting the libido of sight to try to see for the Libido of Freud. And, he gets to reach wide subject consciousness to em-brace the desire of other with himself for the first time.
I make the theory of Freud and Lacan of basis greatly as above in the course to discuss the desire of subject. And, I paid attention to the subject as the deficiency, the paradigm of metaphor and metonymy, and the mirror to project desire in the approach to dream thinking and the expression of desire in it. A series of works to confirm the existence sense of subject through desire and to approach the expression of it to another dream contents enabled spectators to look furtively at the images over picture and find out the hidden desire and enabled the interpretation of desire to mirror stage by projecting their form in it and making it be introduced.
I say the dream interpreted in picture and the desire, while I limit the dream and desire as endless deficiency as the discussion of work. I tried to approach subject and desire with more wide thinking by paying attention to the equipment to be mirror, while I consider the libido of sight and gaze which is seen with picture between. And for this, I used the image of photos, the course of copy, the repetitious element to be overlapped, the system of mark and symbol, and the organic element of painting expression.
The work of me to analyze the contents in dream with a kind of codification and to get to meet the other again in it is the unfolding of the expression of metaphor and metonymy of the desire in dream.
