The requirements for the cultivation of granular sludge include adequate operational parameters such as sludge COD loading rate and hydraulic loading rate, and the environmental factors. volumetric COD loading up to 47kg COD/㎥/day could be handled and COD-removal was about 60-70 per cent. while gas production was 0.32 liter biogas per gram COD removal. biogas contained 85-77 per cent of methane.
