이 연구는 Turbine 회전교차로를 다루고 있다. 최근 많은 회전교차로가 국내 건설되고 있으나, 회전교차로의 효과는 총 진입교통량에 달려 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 신호 로터리를 Turbine 회전교차로로 전환함에 따른 운영효과를 분석하는데 있다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현재 신호운영 교차로에서는 Turbine roundabout으로 전환할 경우 개선 효과가 있는 것으로 분석된다. 둘째, 혜화로터리의 경우 5,500대/시 이상의 교통량, 그리고 공업탑 로터리의 경우 6,500대/시 이상인 경우 Turbine 회전교차로의 개선효과가 있는 것으로 평가된다.

This study deals with Turbine roundabout. Recently, many roundabouts are constructed in Korea, however, the effectiveness of roundabout is restricted to total entering volume. The objective of this study is to analyze the operational effectiveness of roundabout transferring from signalized rotary to Turbine roundabout. The main results are as follows, First, the transfer from signalized roundabout to Turbine roundabout is analyzed to be effective in operational characteristics. Second, in the case of Haewha rotary with traffic volume over 5,500vph and Industry Tower rotary with over 6,500vph, Turbine roundabouts are evaluated to be more effective than signalized intersections.
