This study aimed to provide fundamental insights into societal perceptions of skincare specialists and propose recommendations for improving such perceptions. It accomplished this by: i) analyzing the frequency of keywords related to skincare specialists before and after the implementation of the National Aesthetician License, utilizing big data, and ii) investigating correlations between these keywords. To achieve this, data were gathered from web sources focusing on the keywords 'skincare specialist' and 'aesthetician' for the five years from 2003 to 2007, as well as the most recent five years. For the analysis, TEXTOM and UCINET6 were utilized, and the findings revealed the following: First, in the analysis of the frequency of keywords related to skincare specialists from 2003 to 2007, ‘Aesthetician Academy’ emerged as the most, from 2018 to 2023, 'National Aesthetician License' emerged as the most prominent term. Second, this study visualized the overall network structure of keywords related to skincare specialists using NetDraw, enabling a simultaneous understanding of the relationships between each keyword. Third, network centrality analysis of keywords regarding skincare specialists revealed that during the period from 2003 to 2007, 'Type of Skincare Specialist' exhibited the highest centrality. In the period from 2018 to 2022, ‘National Aesthetician License’ was the highest. Considering these social perceptions of skincare specialists with the aforementioned keywords, there is a clear need to enhance professionalism and regulations regarding qualifications.
