다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The development of film has been accomplished according to the development of the film grammar and the film technology. There has been two transition periods, one that from the silent film to the sound film and the other that from the black and white film to the colored film. Now film is going to meet another turning point to the digital film.
It is called that modern age became the digital age in the influence of the digital technology. We need to discuss and research about the concept of digital which is not yet established certainly for the development of the film.
Digital image is the visual principle which combines every kinds of traditional images into one, in addition to it our society looks lost interests for reality. Now we are faced with a discontinuity, a sudden and decisive rupture. The technology of digital image production, manipulation, and distribution represents a new configuration of intention. It focuses a powerful desire to dismantle the rigidities of photographic seeing and to extend visual discourse beyond the depletive conventions and presumed certitudes of the photographic record.
Computer graphic techniques are used frequently in the recently released films. Computer graphics(CG) becomes a synonym of the SFX because its importance becomes bigger and bigger in spite of just one of SFX like special-make up or miniature. The appearance of the digital image such as CG makes great influence on visual media such as picture, photography, film, television which has produced analogue images. Meeting the modern periodical situation it is necessary to change the traditional concept of image.
This article is to discuss about the position of film and the role of directors in the innovative digital environment in the coming age of the digital film with the expectation of the progression of the digital film age.
