번역, 그 이후

국문 초록 (Abstract)

번역은 본질적으로 “차연”의 과정이다. 또한 의미의 궁극적 확정은 존재하지 않는다. 번역을 통해 생성된 “번역어”는 사회적 역사적 언어 환경 속에서 새로운 의미를 창출해내고, 이것은 다시 최초 번역의 정의를 초월하기 때문이다.
이런 이유로 번역은 “사실”이 아닌 하나의 “사건”이다. 번역이 한번 진행되면, 실제 하나의 사건이 발생할 뿐만 아니라 이 발생은 영원한 진행형이 된다. 그래서 진정한 번역이란 바로 “번역 그 후”에 시작된다. 이 때문에 지속적인 이해와 교류 속에서 끊임없는 교정이 이루어져야 한다. 이것이야말로 문화 교류의 올바른 방법일 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Translation is fundamentally a process of "la diff?e?rances." Also, there cannot be any final definition of meanings. The "translated words," created by the process of translation, could exceed their original meanings since new meanings are created in the different social and historical environment of language.
For the reason, translation is an "event" rather than a "fact." Once the translating process is carried out, it leads to the occurrence of an actual event, which by turn leads to another and another, forever and ever. Therefore, the true translation begins "after the translation." For the reason, it is necessary to make correction by continual understanding and interchange, which is a proper way of cultural communication.
