It is demanded that new generational married women(NGMW) have sound sense of values and rational management behavior so that they can ensure home discipline and adept themselves to rapid social change.
The main purposes of this study are (1)to investigate general tendency of NGMW's sense of values, home management behavior and family life satisfaction, (2)to identify their related variables, (3)to identify the relationship between NGMW's home management behavior and their family life satisfaction, (4)to find main variables affecting family life satisfaction (5)and to provide fundamental information contributing to qualitative improvement of family life and to concrete understanding about new generational family life.
For these purposes, reviewing literatures and empirical research were conducted.
The sample of this study was selected from the married women living in seoul whose age is below 35.
After class-analyzation of the sample, 355 out of 412 respondents were finally selected was data sources and the others were discarded.
The data were analyzed by the statistical methods such as frequency, mean, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Pearson's correlation, stepwise multiple regression analysis, and pass analysis through the SAS program package.
Through the investigation above, this study has acquired following results.
The major findings of this study are summarized as follows.
(1) The mean score of NGMW's home management behavior was relatively high (3.53). NGMW' s home management behavior differs significantly according to their first child's age (P$lt;.01 ), subjective judgement on level of living (P$lt;.01) and had low positive relationship(r=.19) with value orientation.
(2) The mean score of NGMW's family life satisfaction was also relatively high (3.51). NGMW's family life satisfaction differ significantly according to their age (P$lt;.05), school career(P$lt;.01), first child's age (P$lt;.01), social economic status (P$lt;.001) and subjective judgement on level of living(P$lt;.001) and had low positive relationship (r=.16) with value orientation.
(3) There was significant positive relationship between NGMW's home management behavior and their family life satisfaction(r=.35).
(4) Subjective judgement on level of living, first child's age and value orientation were the variables affecting family life satisfaction in directly while social economic status and home management behavior were the direct ones.
From above, we can confirm that NGMW' s value orientation and home management behavior have relationship with their family life satisfaction and find that the home management behavior based on the desirable can bing not only successful home management but also the promotion of family life satisfaction.
Therefore it is necessary that NGMW should know the importance of home manager's value orientation, have sound sense of values and improve their ability to lead their family to the sound life philosophy so that they can reach the promotion of family life satisfaction and the qualitative improvement of family life.
