불한사전에서의 공손 표현에 대한 제시 방식 단점과 해결책 - ‘S’il-vous-plait’를 중심으로 = The Treatment of Politeness Expressions in French-Korean Lexicography

국문 초록 (Abstract)

프랑스어와 한국어의 공손 표현은 어휘적으로나 개념적으로 매우 다르다. 예를 들어, 한국어에서는 s’il te/vous plaît(please)라는 프랑스어에 대한 정확한 대응어를 찾기가 어렵다. 이 공손 표현을 한국어로 번역한다면 여러 가지 방식이 있을 수 있다. 하나의 표현이 반드시 어휘 요소로 대응되지는 않으며 오히려 통사적 요소와 대응될 수도 있다. 또한, Monsieur/Madame(Sir/Madam)라는 프랑스어 호칭에 대해서는 대화자 사이의 관계에 따라 다양한 한국어 대응어가 존재하기도 한다. 이러한 차이로 인해, 프랑스인 한국어 학습자의 관점에서 봤을 때, 공손 표현 관련 표현에 대한 사전적 기술은 화용론적 정보 및 대응어의 측면에서 문제점과 한계점이 많이 발견된다. 본 연구는 불한사전에서 공손 표현을 어떻게 다루고 있는지, 그리고 관련 표제항에 어떤 문제점이 있는지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석된 대응어와 예시는 네이버 불한사전에서 수집한 것이다. 본 연구는 분석 결과를 바탕으로 불한사전의 공손 표현에 대한 사전 미시구조의 모델을 제시함으로써 지금까지의 한계를 극복하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Expressions of politeness in French and in Korean are lexically as well as conceptually different. For example, there is no equivalent word to the French s’il te/vous plaît (‘please’) in Korean. This particular expression of politeness can be translated in many ways in Korean, which are not necessarily lexical and can also correspond to syntactic elements. At the same time, polite terms of address in French such as Monsieur/Madame (‘Sir/Madam’) have a variety of equivalents which depend on the relationship between the interlocutors and denote the various levels of politeness in Korean. Because of these discrepancies, the lexicographical description of politeness related lexical items presents many issues and shortcomings as for their practical use from the perspective of French learners of Korean. The objective of this paper is to analyse how lexical items of politeness are treated in French-Korean lexicography and what issues the relevant entries present. The equivalents and examples analysed are extracted from Naver dictionary portal, which gathers information from existing published bilingual dictionaries. As a result of the analysis, this study proposes a solution to the issues which the entries of such expressions present by suggesting a model for the lexicographical treatment of politeness elements.
