In this paper, to optimize the operation for the TFT-AMLCD, the polarization performance as a spatial light modulator is investigated theoretically and experimentally. By use of the Jones calculus the measured bias voltage to obtain maximum intensity transmittance is well matched to the theoretical value. And the theoretical relationship between transmittance and polarization angle is computer simulated and verified experimentally.
