제너러티브 디자인 방법론에 의한 텍스타일 디자인 = Textile Design by Methodology of Generative Design

Textile is the most closely-related material to human life. It is continuously evolving with new methods of design development and various high technologies. In the past, the growth of the textile design industry was influenced mainly by the progress of production technology, the creation of new fibers materials, and the development of dyes. In modern times, the application of digital media technology and the integration of science and technology are a significant influence. This study focuses on the application of generative design methodology based on recent scientific and technical developments that are responsive to an individual's value-seeking tendency. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept and characteristics of generative design methodology, and to provide basic data for future textile design development through analyzing case study. The research for this study was conducted through a review of the existing literature on the subject as well as internet research. This research paper contains as follows.
Textile Design with Generative Design Methodology is suggesting; 1) Textile designers have expanded the scope of their creative activities by introducing new methods and forms of expression. 2) Textile designers are able to cater to the new age so that the consumers receive additional value and experience through the medium of textile. 3) The collaborative relationship between human, science, and technology in textile design demonstrates the value and abundant possibilities of textiles through multifaceted interactions. Based on the results derived from the perspective of the creator, consumer, and the integrated design innovation in this research, this paper prove Textile Design by Methodology of Generative Design is creating new value and proposing innovative direction for future textile design.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

텍스타일은 인간생활과 가장 밀접한 소재로 시대의 변화에 따라 새로운 기술 접목을 통해 디자인 개발 방법이나 생산 방법에 있어서 지속적인 발전을 이루고 있다. 과거에는 생산 방식에서 이룬 생산 기술의 고도화와 신섬유 소재의 개발, 염료의 개발 등이 텍스타일 디자인 산업 발전에 영향을 주었다. 최근에는 디지털 미디어 기술과 다양한 과학기술과의 접목으로 텍스타일 디자인은 다각도의 감성적 접근을 시도하고 개개인의 가치 추구 경향에 부응하며 제너러티브 디자인 방법론을 적용하고 있음에 주목하였다. 본 연구는 제너러티브 디자인 방법론의 개념과 특징을 살펴보고 이를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인 사례를 분석하여 미래 텍스타일 디자인 개발 방향에기초자료를 제공 하는 것에 연구의 목적을 둔다. 본 연구는 문헌고찰과 인터넷 탐색 방법을 통해 이루어 졌으며, 각 사례는 제너러티브 디자인 방법론에 의한 텍스타일의 세가지 새로운 방향으로 분류하여 제시하였다. 연구내용은 다음과 같다. 1) 텍스타일 디자이너는 디지털 기술과 과학기술과의 융합을 통해 새로운 창작 방법과 표현 방식을 도입하여 창작 활동의 범위를 확장 시켰다. 2) 제너러티브 디자인 방법론을 통해 텍스타일 디자이너는 새로운 시대에 대응할 텍스타일 디자인을 제안하고 소비자는 텍스타일 이라는 매체를 통해 새로운 가치와 경험을 제공 받게 되었다. 3) 텍스타일 디자인은 융합기술을 바탕으로 과학과 인간에 대한 탐구를 텍스타일 디자인으로 제안하는 혁신을 이루고 있다. 텍스타일 디자인에서 제너러티브 방법론의 도입은 유연한 사고와 협력적 관계를 통해 융합적 결과를 산출하는 방식으로 표현되고 있다. 텍스타일은 새로운 경험을 제공하고 다각도의 상호 작용을 통해 텍스타일 디자인의 무한한 가치와 풍부한 가능성을 제시하고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 제너러티브 디자인 방법론을 통해 새로운 가치를 창출하고 미래 사회의 혁신을 주도 할 현대 텍스타일 디자인 산업의 성장 가능성을 창작자 관점, 소비자 관점, 통합적인 디자인 혁신의 관점으로 도출하여 제시 하였다.
