건축양식의 조형원리를 응용한 업스타일 디자인 연구 : 프리츠커상 10인 수상자의 특성을 중심으로 = A study on Up-Style Design Application of Architecture Design Principles : Focus on a study of 10 the Pritzker Prize winners

국문 초록 (Abstract)

건축양식은 인간의 삶에 큰 영향을 주면서 발전 되어온 예술 형식이다. 건축물은 예술 창조를 위한 하나의 장르로서 다양한 형태와 기능을 갖고 무한한 가능성을 제시해 주는 영역이다. 하늘을 찌를 듯이 치솟은 첨탑과 거대한 돔, 웅장한 플라잉 버트레스(flying buttress)등이 건축물의 양식으로 역사적인 사조 속에서 조형적인 형태로 다양하게 건축예술 작품으로 표현 되고 완성 되었다.
본 연구에서는 시대적 사조별로 사용되어 왔던 건축양식에 대해 알아보고 조형의 원리들과 구성적인 요소가 회화, 건축, 미용예술의 업-스타일(up-style)에서 어떻게 표현 되어 왔는지 작품의 사례를 제시하여 살펴보았다. 그리고, 본 연구에서는 인간과 밀접한 관련을 갖고 있는 건축분야에서 건축의 노벨상이라 불리는 프리츠커상 수상자 중 대표적인 10인을 선택하여 그들이 이루어 놓은 업적과 생각, 고뇌들이 각자의 작품에 용해되어 표출된 건축양식의 조형 원리와 구성요소에 근거하여 분석하여 보고, 그들이 작품을 구성할 때 기준을 두었던 법칙이나 사상, 규범들의 원천적인 디자인이 무엇인지를 살펴보고 그 원칙을 업-스타일(up-style) 작품에서 디자인하여 표현해 봄으로써 미용예술의 업-스타일(up-style)의 기본 표현기법을 바탕으로 조형 요소의 구성 원리를 이용한 형태적 디자인적 구성이 가능하다는 것을 11개의 작품 제작을 통해 제시 하고자 하였다.
작품Ⅰ, 이오니아는 이오니아 양식의 기둥모양과 소용돌이 머리모양, 움푹하게 패인 패디먼트, 늑재(肋材)를 붙임으로써 수직효과를 강조한 전통주의 건축양식에서의 쭉쭉 뻗은 수직모양을 4가닥 다이아몬드 땋기를 하여 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅱ, 비상은 하늘을 향해 뻗쳐있는 위성도시 관문의 탑에서 보색의 색채를 활용한 것처럼 통가발을 15cm탈색하여 3가지의 색을 그라데이션으로 코팅한 후 보색의 롤 피스를 사용하여 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅲ, 백조는 기하학적인 둥근 벽면의 유선형의 곡면흐름과 순수색인 흰색을 반복해서 미니멀 아트(minimal art)적인 표현을 한 것처럼 롤, 꼬기, 땋기, 고리를 사용하여 유동 선을 나타내 주며 우아하게 표현해 주었다. 작품Ⅳ, 자유는 즉흥과 우연의 결과를 즐기듯 표현한 해체주의 건축물처럼 고리와 롤 기법으로 반복과 율동 감을 사용하여 해체주의적 미학으로 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅴ, 학은 롤과 고리기법으로 기하학적이며 단순한 형태의 질감이 표현된 모던하고 우아함을 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅵ, 정원은 기하학적인 구성으로 자연환경과 혼화시킨 환경 친화적인 구성으로 건축한 작품처럼 상징적인 돌출의 표현을 땋기, 롤, 꼬기, 겹치기 기법으로 나타내 주었다. 작품Ⅶ, 가을은 최초의 하이테크 건축의 심미적 가능성을 완성하며 기계적인 요소의 외부 노출과 기술적인 표현이 방대하고 풍자적인 표현을 한 작품처럼 기능과 공간을 연결시킨 하이테크 방식의 구도를 7가닥 땋기와 꼬기, 고리, 매듭의 기법을 사용하여 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅷ, 마천루는 웅장하고 서정적인 마천루를 표현한 건축물의 특징을 헤어 씽을 토대로 만든 후 헤어피스를 반복과 리듬감을 이용하여 겹치기 기법으로 표현 하였다. 작품Ⅸ, 미로는 지역적 특성을 기하학적인 구도로 기능과 공간을 활용한 것처럼 롤과 꼬기를 이용하여 비대칭적인 균형감과 조화미를 표현 하였다.
작품Ⅹ-1, 파빌리온은 3차원 드로잉을 통해 무한대로 확장한 자유로운 표현의 유기적 형태의 도출을 아이롱으로 C컬을 만든 후 브러쉬를 이용해 드로잉 작업을 통하여 표현 하였다.
작품Ⅹ-2, 코린트는 코린트 양식에서 정적이고 역동적인 조형요소의 상호 관계를 유동적 이동성으로 창조하기 위해 아이롱으로 S컬을 사용하여 표현 하였다.
따라서, 작품제작을 통해 건축예술과 미용예술의 조형적 원리의 기초적인 개념이 같은 맥락에서 이루어짐을 주장하며, 미용예술은 각 개인마다 가지고 있는 스타일의 특성을 고려한 창조를 이루며 조형의 원리와 기법을 통한 표현으로 다양한 디자인이 가능함을 제시하였다.
본 연구 결과에 따른 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 회화와 건축에서 다양한 예술적 작품들이 창조되어 발표되었듯, 새로운 영감(靈感)과 트랜드(trend)로 아름다움을 추구하여 미적 표현을 통해 사람들에게 만족감과 함께 예술적 가치를 높이며 발전할 수 있도록 미용 예술에서도 조형적 원리를 적용한 다양한 창작 작품이 발표되어야 할 것이다.
둘째, 하나의 장르로 자리 잡기 위해 앞으로 지속적인 연구와 이론적 정립에도 더욱 노력을 기울여 영역을 확대해 나갈 수 있도록 후속 논문과 지속적인 연구가 수반되어야 할 것으로 사료(思料)된다.
그러므로, 본 연구자는 본 연구로 인해 미용예술의 영역을 확대하여 건축이나 회화 등의 예술적 장르와 어깨를 나란히 할 수 있도록 자리 매김을 하는데 일조를 하고자 함이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The style of architecture is a sort of style of art which has been developed, affecting huge human’s life. Building is one of genre for creating art and it has various styles, functions and infinite possibility. The style of architecture such as spire that rends the sky and gigantic dome, magnificent flying buttress has been expressed and completed as a form of sculpture or as a work of architecture variously in a trend of history.
The research looks into the style of architecture that has been used in each time’s trend and it studied how the sculpture, theories and components have been expressed in painting, architecture and up-style of beauty art through the examples of works. And the research chose the representative 10 winners of Pritzker Architecture Prize which is considered as a Nobel Prize of architecture related to human being. The research analyzes their architectures that their thoughts and achievements are melted in by the factor of sculpture principle and component of architecture and it checks their original design of their rules, philosophy and regulation. So the research wants to show it is possible to organize typological and design based on basic representation techniques of up-style of beauty art by expressing and designing the principle to 11 up-style works.
‘Ionia’ PieceⅠ expressed whirlpool hair style by 4 strands diamond braids like vertical shape which reaches out to the sky is expressed by attaching sunken pediment and timber in architecture. ‘Soaring’ PieceⅡ decolorized wig 15㎝ and coated in gradation of 3 colors and expressed using roll piece of complementary color like utilizing complementary colors on the top of the gateway to satellite cities reaches out to the sky. 'Swan' PieceⅢ showed lines using roll, twist, braid and loop and expressed gracefully like swan repeated pure white color and curve flow of streamlined shape of geometric round wall expressed minimal art.
‘Freedom’ PieceⅣ uses repeating and rhythm and expressed deconstructive esthetics like a deconstructive building was built by the result of coincidence and improvisation. ‘Crane’ PieceⅤ uses roll and loop and expressed grace and modern in texture of simple and geometric shape. ‘Garden’ PieceⅥ showed technique of braid, roll, twist and over-lapping like it is comprised of eco-friendly mixed with nature environment. ‘Autumn’ PieceⅦ expressed in a way of high tech which connects function and space using 7 strands braids, twist and knot just like a work that completes possibility of esthetic for the first time and also expresses external exposure and technical expression huge and satirically. ‘Skyscraper’ PieceⅧ expressed the feature of architecture which shows huge and lyrical skyscraper by making hair piece with the way of over-lapping using repeating and rhythm.
‘Maze’ PieceⅨ expressed asymmetrical balance and harmony using roll and twist like local feature by utilizing the function and space in the composition. ‘Pavilion’ PieceⅩ-1 expressed the organic shape of liberal expression which expands infinite through 3-D drawing by using hair iron and making c shape curl and brushing. ‘The Corinth’ PieceⅩ-2 used hair iron and makes it S shape curl to create the stillness and dynamic component of sculpture from the style of Corinth.
Therefore the research shows that the sculptural principle and basic concept of architecture and the Beauty-art are similar and also it shows for beauty art to create and express of the individual’s style variously through the expression of principle and technique of sculpture.
So here are the proposals of the research like below.
First ,Beauty-art should seek the beauty with inspiration and trend and various creative works should be come out in Beauty art to increase and develop the value of artistic through the expression of the esthetics.
Second, in order to be settled as a genre, we need to make an effort to establish theory and continuous research more so that we can enhance the range of field with the papers and endless study.
So I hope my research helps the Beauty-art considered as an artistic genre like Architecture or Painting.
