추상적 개념 형상화를 위한 디자인 발상 단계별 입체조형 교육에 관한 연구-음악과 색상의 심상을 활용한 이미지 표현을 중심으로- = A Study on the Three-Dimensional Shaping Education of Design Thinking Stage for Forming Abstract Concepts into the Design -focused on the image representation using imagery of music and color-

In the era of convergence, designers need an ability to communicate with various fields and express the abstracts into reality. To do this, design foundation courses should cover various topics in class to expand student’s thinking, and also practice expressing abstract concepts into proper formative languages with creative thoughts. In this study, education of design thinking stage using music and color imagery was conducted to let students express images into two dimensions and three dimensions with association effect of auditory and visual senses. Education of design thinking stage were conducted as follows; 1) conceptualizing ‘music’ as an associated ‘color’, 2) categorizing it as adjective keywords for ‘music’ and ‘color’, 3) formalizing the beat, size, tone, rhythm, mood, shape of music, and keyword of color into two-dimensional image drawings, 4) forming the image features into three-dimensional shapes. The research method of this study, among the forty three works, eight were selected as representatives by color, explaining the educational process and the progress of works on each stage. Based on this, analyzed the formative elements and the principles of two-dimensional and three-dimensional image representations on each work. Students' two-dimensional image drawings and three-dimensional forms showed difference on its’ formative features depending on the image of music and color. As a result of this study, organized the formative relationship between music and color images into a diagram. Through this study, it hopes that students majoring in design will understand the relationship between image and form, and will be used as a reference to express diverse images using formative elements and principles. In addition, by conducting education of design thinking stage that produce two-dimensional image drawing and three-dimensional form using auditory and visual senses, it is expected to help improving students’ problem-solving skills and flexible thinking ability.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

융합화 시대에 디자이너는 다양한 분야와 소통하고 무형의 것을 실체화하여 표현하는 능력이 요구된다. 이를 위하여 디자인 기초전공과목에서 다양한 주제를 다루며 학생들의 사고를 확장하고, 창의적인발상을 통해 추상적인 개념을 구체적인 조형언어로 표현하는 연습이 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 논문은음악과 색상의 심상을 활용한 디자인 발상 단계별 교육을 시행하여 학생들이 청각적, 시각적 감각의연상 작용을 통해 2차원과 3차원적 이미지 표현을 진행한 내용을 바탕으로 연구하였다. 발상 단계별교육은 1) 선정한 ‘음악’을 연상되는 ‘색상’으로 개념화하는 단계, 2) ‘음악’과 ‘색상’에서 연상되는 형용사 키워드를 범주화하는 단계, 3) ‘음악’의 박자, 크기, 음색, 리듬, 분위기, 형상 및 ‘색상’에 대한 키워드를 2차원 이미지 드로잉으로 형식화하는 단계, 4) 이미지의 특징을 입체조형으로 제작하는 형상화 단계의 프로세스로 진행되었다. 본 논문의 연구방법은 발상 단계별 교육을 통해 진행된 43개의 학생 작품 중 색상별로 대표적인 8개의 작품을 선정하여 교육 프로세스와 단계별 작품 진행 과정을 설명하였다. 이를 바탕으로 2차원과 3차원적 이미지 표현에 활용된 조형요소와 조형원리를 분석하였다.
음악과 색상의 이미지에 따라 상이한 조형적 특징이 나타났고, 따라서 본 연구의 결과로 음악과 색상의 이미지에 따른 조형적 관계성을 다이어그램으로 정리하여 제시하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 디자인을 전공하는 학생들이 이미지와 조형의 관계성을 파악하는 데 도움이 되고, 조형요소와 조형원리를활용하여 다채로운 이미지를 표현하는 데 참고자료로 활용되기를 바란다. 또한 학생들이 다양한 감각의 연상 작용을 활용하여 입체조형을 제작하는 디자인 발상 단계별 교육을 수행하며 문제해결 능력을기르고 더욱 유연한 사고를 하는데 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
